If you're looking for an eye-catching SUV, the Lamborghini LM002 is your best bet.
This specific LM002, equipped with the Countach's V12 engine, has only 12,000 miles on the odometer.
Originally sold in Germany, it subsequently resided in Spain, the UK, the Netherlands, and is now in the United States.
Only 301 LM002s were produced, making it one of the rarest Lamborghinis to exist.
Long before most luxury automakers raced to create an SUV, Lamborghini had already introduced the LM002. Launched in the mid-1980s, this rugged vehicle quickly earned the nickname “Rambo-Lambo,” blending Hollywood charm with Italian extravagance. Despite its tough appearance and military-inspired build, production numbers were limited, with just 301 units manufactured over a span of seven years.
Considering its scarcity, the availability of an LM002 for sale is noteworthy, and one is currently on the market in the US. This particular vehicle boasts a remarkable history, starting in Germany and then moving to Spain, the UK, and the Netherlands before being imported to the US earlier this year. It comes with a clean Carfax report and a clear Florida title.
Although this model is from 1987, it has only approximately 12,000 miles (around 20,000 km) on it. It retains all of its original factory parts, showcased in an eye-catching silver finish with matching 17-inch wheels fitted with Pirelli Scorpion BK tires.
Even by today's exotic SUV standards, the LM002 appears extraordinary, making the massive GMC Hummer EV seem understated and the more delicate Urus appear almost comically fragile next to it.
Leather, Wood, And A Manual
The interior of this LM002 may be its standout feature. It is draped in beige leather on both the front and rear seats, with the same leather covering the large center console, dashboard, and door panels. There is also an abundance of wood across the dashboard, showcasing a three-spoke Nardi steering wheel and a prominent manual shifter. Indeed, the LM002 features a five-speed manual transmission.
The two prototype models that preceded the LM002, the Cheetah and LM001, were powered by V8 engines; however, the final production version features a 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V12 taken from the Countach. Factory specifications indicate 455 horsepower and 368 lb-ft of torque, allowing drivers to choose between rear-wheel and four-wheel drive.
Interest in the Lamborghini is already high on Bring a Trailer, with a current bid of $290,000 and four days remaining in the auction. It's likely that the final price will be as impressive as the vehicle itself.
If you’re interested in acquiring a V12-powered beast disguised as an SUV, this is your chance. It’s rare, outrageous, and unmistakably Lamborghini. Be sure to check out the listing on BaT before someone else takes the opportunity away.
