The new Heritage Edition commemorates 36 years of Lexus LS luxury with exclusive colors and a limited run of just 250 units.

Lexus LS is set to conclude its run in the USA with a special limited edition for 2026.

Only 250 units will be available, starting at $99,280, which includes the destination charge.

The model features a distinctive Ninety Noir exterior and a Rioja Red interior to mark its farewell.

It has been over thirty years since Toyota launched its luxury brand with the original Lexus LS 400. Introduced in 1989 as a 1990 model year vehicle, this full-size sedan demonstrated that a German-style luxury car could be built without a German brand, successfully attracting affluent customers away from BMW, Mercedes, and Jaguar by providing reliable performance akin to that of a Corolla within a luxurious setting.

However, time has taken its toll on this flagship model. Sales have dropped significantly, with only 691 units sold during the first half of 2025, representing a steep 42.3 percent decline from the previous year and even more so compared to previous years. As a result, Lexus is preparing to retire the LS in the United States and other regions. Before its departure, the brand is offering a special limited edition to honor its luxury pioneer.

      A Tribute

The 2026 LS Heritage Edition is being introduced as a tribute to the original model, with just 250 units designated for the U.S. market. The starting price is $99,280, which includes a $1,450 destination fee, and the vehicle will be available in showrooms later this fall.

For its final offering, this Heritage Edition will be the sole LS variant produced, with production concluding this fall, according to a representative we consulted. It will be offered exclusively in a new color called Ninety Noir, a deep black hue that is complemented by dark trim and 20-inch split-spoke alloy wheels finished in Dark Gray Metallic.

      Luxury at Its Best

The interior evokes a late-80s, early-90s feel, featuring a new Rioja Red color scheme, a first for this model. Additional unique elements include an etched Heritage Edition emblem on the center console and LS silhouettes embroidered on the headrests.

As anticipated, the list of standard features is extensive, highlighting amenities such as a panoramic glass roof, Panoramic View Monitor, and Laser Special Black premium wood trim, paired with Ultrasuede on the headliner and sun visors. The package also includes heated rear seats, a power lift-up buckle, a 23-speaker, 2,400-watt Mark Levinson sound system, and Advanced Park.

In terms of performance, the Heritage Edition is equipped with the same 3.4-liter twin-turbo V6 engine found in the standard 2025 LS 500, producing 416 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque. It is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system featuring a limited-slip differential, enabling a 0-60 mph sprint in just 4.6 seconds.

Whether Lexus intends to produce a direct successor to the LS is still uncertain. When queried, the company reverted to its standard response, stating that it “doesn’t comment on future plans.”
