An E60 BMW M5 is available on Cars & Bids, featuring only 3,300 miles and a clear Florida title.

It is equipped with a 500-hp S85 V10 engine and a 7-speed SMG transmission, completely unmodified.

In collectible condition, it is, however, associated with known rod bearing wear and SMG clutch/pump problems.

If you’ve been waiting for an exceptionally pristine example of BMW’s last naturally aspirated super-sedan and the sole M5 with a V10 engine, this could be the nearest thing to new. Currently listed for auction with a high bid of $30,250, this Alpine White sedan has merely 3,300 miles, remains unmodified, and has a clean Florida title.

As if that weren't enough to pique interest, it was owned by the original owner until earlier this year. Essentially, this is a single-owner time capsule of one of BMW’s most exciting and temperamental models.

      A Distinct BMW Styling Period

Before the era of oversized kidney grilles and extravagant designs, what you see here was deemed too bold by some. At the time, few realized how special this car would become decades later. Under the hood, the naturally aspirated V10 revs to 8,250 RPM, producing 500 horsepower (373 kW) and 383 lb-ft (519 Nm) of torque. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a seven-speed SMG automated manual transmission.

Factory features on this model comprise 19-inch 166M wheels, Merino leather, heated seats in both rows, and a heads-up display. The seller even includes the original tires, two keys, and the original manuals. Since posting the car, they've uploaded a Monroney Label, showing an MSRP of $87,905.

      Beauty With Caveats

While this car is undoubtedly a collector’s item, potential buyers should proceed with caution. Sitting virtually unused for 20 years can be detrimental to any vehicle, and the seals and gaskets may pose issues. Additionally, the rod bearings and the automated manual gearbox are known concerns for these models.

For the bearings, good maintenance can mitigate much of the risk if you intend to drive it, but the functionality of the gearbox practically guarantees issues over time. That said, no car will operate endlessly without encountering problems. If maintenance is a necessity, why not choose something as beautiful, fast, and powerful as this E60 M5?

If your idea of excitement involves testing the limits of Bavarian engineering encased in a four-door rocket, this could be your opportunity. Be sure to check out the listing here before it ends.
