The final model will not be revealed until 2026, but a powertrain announcement is imminent.
Recent spy images show a test vehicle camouflaged in a breadvan-like shape.
Ferrari's upcoming electric vehicle is anticipated to be smaller than the current Purosangue.
October 9 will be a significant day for Ferrari, as Maranello is set to unveil the electric powertrain for its first-ever EV, although the car itself is not expected to debut until next year. Internally referred to as the Elettrica, this new model is thought to be a crossover that will be positioned below the Purosangue in size. This aspect remains unconfirmed, and Ferrari’s test vehicles have only added to the suspense.
So far, the prototypes have featured a peculiar mix of Purosangue and Maserati Levante components, making it difficult to determine the final design. Recently, a new set of spy photographs from Derek Photography on Instagram has emerged. This time, the heavily camouflaged body appears strikingly different, resembling a breadvan-style silhouette, or at least giving that impression due to its thick disguise.
The term "Breadvan" is often associated with the unique Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta SWB, designed for Le Mans with an unconventional body featuring a roofline that extended to the rear. Contemporary French media referred to it as “La Camionnette” (little van), which was translated as the Bread Van by English-speaking journalists.

The similarities in the spy images below are evident. Much like the 250 GT SWB, this electric prototype displays a roof that extends flat to the back and a squared-off rear window with rounded edges. However, before anyone gets too excited, the last image in the series reveals the cleverness of the disguise, exposing an angled rear window concealed beneath the camouflage.
This is the first instance of seeing a prototype of this size and shape from Ferrari. In previous sightings by our spies, Ferrari's EV tests have shown more curvature, albeit always in a misleading test mule format. With the powertrain reveal approaching next month, there is hope that Ferrari may also share a teaser of the actual vehicle.
The Current Roadmap
Ferrari has indeed taken its time to introduce its EV to the market. To the brand's credit, they announced they would provide information about their first electric vehicle in 2025, and now we are just weeks away from that.
We anticipate Ferrari will start customer deliveries approximately a year from now. Below are some spy images of another Ferrari EV test mule taken in May.
