This Dodge Ram's Six Wheels Are More Outrageous Than Your HOA Can Tolerate | Carscoops
Six wheels, a Cummins turbodiesel, and Hot Wheels-inspired design make "Cab Over Evolved" one of the most extraordinary custom vehicles ever created.
A unique custom build featuring a Cummins 5.9-liter 6BT turbodiesel and a four-speed automatic transmission. It boasts a handcrafted steel body, air suspension, and 24/28-inch wheels with copper detailing. It is currently available for auction at Bring A Trailer, offering a clean Carfax report and a leading bid of $90,000.
While many of us enjoy personalizing our vehicles, some enthusiasts take it to the extreme. The Cab Over Evolved exemplifies this concept. Originally a 1991 Dodge D250, it has transformed into a six-wheeled, Cummins-powered dream reminiscent of Hot Wheels. Amazingly, it is for sale to anyone with sufficient funds.
**Frankenstein Design**
Constructed by Aaron Buck of Milk Man Concepts, this truck incorporates various components from different brands. The cab is sourced from a Ford pickup, and the handmade body is mounted on a custom tubular chassis. The House of Kolor blue paint, combined with airbrushed patina and copper accents, enhances its unique aesthetic. The teardrop taillights complement the angular vertical elements at the front of the truck.
Beneath the body, you’ll find a 5.9-liter Cummins 6BT turbodiesel engine taken from a 1991 Dodge D250. This 12-valve inline-six has been equipped with a “killer dowel pin” fix, a Holset HX35 turbocharger, Bosch injectors, and a rebuilt injection pump. Power is transmitted through a 46RH four-speed automatic transmission to the center pair of axles, while the rear axle is purely for aesthetic purposes.
Featuring a custom suspension system, the truck utilizes Slam Specialties air springs at each corner, an independent front suspension with Dakota spindles, and dual triangulated four-link setups at the rear. The impressive 24-inch front wheels are overshadowed by the 28-inch rear wheels, all outfitted with ultra-low profile tires.
**Impressive Interior**
The interior maintains the same wild theme as the exterior. A hand-formed dashboard and center console match the vehicle’s outside design. The seats are distinctive, though not particularly comfortable. However, not every feature functions flawlessly; some gauges, including the speedometer, are inoperative.
Nevertheless, the overall craftsmanship and finish of this vehicle are exceptional. Registered as a 1991 Dodge D250, it comes with a clean Carfax and a title from Florida. For Hot Wheels enthusiasts, this is a model they can actually drive.
You can view the auction listing before someone else snatches up this outrageous six-wheeled diesel creation, leaving others to browse through mundane pickups. Keep in mind that bidding has already reached $90,000, so unless your finances match the extravagance of this truck, you might just be window-shopping.
