The Ram 1500 RHO now includes two new three-inch cat-back exhaust options from MagnaFlow.

Both exhaust systems can be purchased through the Direct Connection accessories program.

The more expensive xMOD system offers a special “pissed off” mode for a more aggressive sound profile.

Despite their practical origins, many truck enthusiasts have been requesting a more aggressive sound, and Ram has responded by ensuring the excitement continues even without a V8 engine. The 1500 RHO, equipped with a spirited 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six, now features two new exhaust options that deliver the deep rumble fans desire.

While they may not completely replicate the powerful sound of the supercharged V8 in the TRX, they produce enough intensity to compete with competitors like the Ford Ranger Raptor.

      Sound Performance

The two new exhaust systems are available through the Direct Connection Affiliated Accessories Program, having been developed in collaboration between Ram and MagnaFlow. The first option, called the SPEQ series cat-back, features three-inch tubing, an X-pipe, valves, and dual five-inch black chrome tips. This system costs $2,089 and includes a two-year warranty.

The second MagnaFlow option is the xMOD series cat-back. According to Ram, this system offers six distinct sound combinations, ranging from sporty to “pissed off.” These descriptors are from Ram, not us. Similar to the less expensive option, this one also has three-inch tubing, an X-pipe, and dual five-inch black chrome tips. Additionally, it includes three interchangeable modules to modify the sound, along with two replaceable mid-pipes. Naturally, it comes at a higher price of $3,099.

      Quiet When Needed

Both exhausts incorporate MagnaFlow’s No Drone Technology, which utilizes passive noise cancellation to eliminate disruptive resonance in the cabin. While Ram has not indicated whether these systems provide any additional power from the six-cylinder engine, they clearly enhance the RHO's sound profile and offer drivers more control over its acoustic presence on the road.

“Our customers expressed a desire for more character in the Ram 1500 RHO, and we are here to fulfill that need,” stated Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis. “Performance encompasses more than just horsepower and torque; it’s about the overall sensory experience. With our new MagnaFlow exhaust options, we’re giving drivers the ability to adjust the volume to their liking.”
