The Opel Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo has been envisioned with dual electric motors and delivers 800 hp.

The brand claims this concept can reach 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 2 seconds.

The interior features a lightweight driver's seat, racing harnesses, and vibrant upholstery.

Despite housing an 82 kWh battery pack, the concept weighs only 1,170 kg.

Opel has recently unveiled an exciting concept that was teased last week. However, it is not intended for consumer purchase as a new high-performance model. Instead, the unique Opel Corsa GSE is the latest addition to the Vision GT lineup, set to appear in Gran Turismo 7 later this year.

Like other Vision GT vehicles, the Corsa GSE surpasses what Opel would typically offer to the public in terms of both design and performance.

In terms of the powertrain, it is equipped with two electric motors, one on each axle, generating a total of 789 hp (588 kW / 800 PS) and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque. It also features a 79 hp (59 kW / 80 PS) overboost function available for four-second spurts, requiring 80 seconds to recharge.

This remarkable hot hatch accelerates from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in only 2.0 seconds and has a top speed of 200 mph (320 km/h). The power for the motors comes from an 82 kWh battery pack. Opel states that the lightweight design results in a total weight of just 1,170 kg (2,579 lbs).

Aesthetically, the Opel Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo showcases custom parts that allow it to be lower and wider than the existing Corsa while maintaining a similar footprint. Notable design features include the flared wheel arches, the latest version of the Vizor grille, and the combination of a prominent rear wing with a pronounced diffuser.

The interior is equally impressive, featuring a lightweight driver's seat with six-point harnesses and sensors that warn the driver of nearby vehicles. If a car encroaches on the blind spot, a warning will be indicated through special illuminated fabrics on the dashboard and door panels.

Although this will remain a concept, Opel mentions that it serves as a “preview of forthcoming GSE models.” This could pave the way for a hot hatch variant of the next Corsa, potentially mirroring the fully electric Peugeot E-208 GTI. The brand has recently reintroduced its performance sub-brand with the Opel Mokka GSE, which generates 278 hp (207 kW / 280 PS) and 255 lb-ft (345 Nm) of torque, enabling the EV to reach 62 mph (100 km/h) in 5.9 seconds.

A New Corsa is on the Way

The Opel Corsa, now in its sixth generation, is related to the Peugeot 208. The upcoming version is anticipated to debut in 2026, utilizing the STLA Small platform. Similar to its predecessor, the subcompact hatchback will likely offer options for gasoline, mild-hybrid, and fully electric powertrains.

In terms of styling, the production model will incorporate elements from the bold Corsa GSE concept, such as the narrower Opel Vizor grille at the front. However, it will adopt a more standard five-door body style, aligning with the new norms in the segment, and will forgo the oversized aerodynamic features present in the track-oriented concept.
