The Brabus XLP 800 6×6 Adventure is a whimsical vehicle on wheels, and by that, I mean six wheels, as it is derived from the Mercedes-AMG G63 6×6—a truck so extravagant that it’s hard to take seriously without chuckling. Brabus, a brand known for enhancing the power of various high-end Benz models and adding air vents in unusual places, has produced several intriguing accessories to make this already outlandish Mercedes even more remarkable than its factory version.

I find myself scrolling through images of this vehicle with a strange fascination. It’s unattractive, yet studying it is quite entertaining. Even the fender flares are equipped with vents. Brabus has been customizing G-Wagens (properly spelled with an “e”) into pickup trucks since 2020, but I’m fairly certain this one takes the prize for the most bizarre and extreme creation thus far.

The roof rack and the dual-layer light bar—though I wouldn't label them as practical (good luck retrieving your bags from up there!)—are particularly intriguing. The rack features a sleek design, and I appreciate the small airflow-directing element in the center. I wonder if it prevents the light from interfering with the radar cruise control and collision-avoidance camera mounted at the top of the windshield.

I appreciate how Brabus has integrated the roll bar over the bed to fit seamlessly with the sides of the bed. It gives the impression of being secured by oversized cupholders—a unique concept I haven’t seen in custom trucks before. It's reminiscent of the standard 6×6, but with distinct differences. It has an almost nautical appearance.

Swipe through more pictures to spot additional quirky features in the comments. It’s like a game of Where’s Waldo for whimsical decorative accents.

In terms of specifications, Brabus’ new six-wheeled G boasts 800 horsepower and approximately 737 lb-ft of torque. However, due to its enormous tires, portal axle design, and substantial air displacement, it accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in a fairly modest 5.8 seconds and is electronically capped at 130 mph. I certainly wouldn’t want to be inside this vehicle at high speeds— with 18.5 inches of ground clearance, even the slightest maneuver at highway speeds would be quite alarming.

I suppose I don’t really need to be concerned about that. I doubt any of my friends would be willing to spend the 1,161,000 euros ($1,359,339.43) required to purchase one of these.
