GMSV introduced two exceptionally exclusive V12 supercars at Monterey, with one unit sold to a single buyer.

Gordon Murray rolled out the S1 LM and the Le Mans GTR during the Monterey Car Week 2025.

The S1 LM boasts over 700 horsepower and serves as a tribute to the McLaren F1.

The Le Mans GTR is a longtail, track-oriented V12, with a production run of only 24 units planned.

Although Monterey Car Week has just begun, Gordon Murray has already captivated the audience with the unveiling of two new supercars from his company, Gordon Murray Special Vehicles (GMSV). These vehicles represent a new direction for his business: the S1 LM and the Le Mans GTR.

Since establishing Gordon Murray Automotive (GMA), Murray has set high standards with the T50, T50S, and T33, all of which are sold out, highly regarded, and packed with innovative engineering. Initially, when Murray announced he would present two new models at Monterey, many speculated they might be special iterations of the T50 or T33. However, both models turned out to be unique creations.

The S1 LM pays modern homage to the McLaren F1.

The S1 LM directly pays tribute to the McLaren F1, Murray’s iconic design that famously won at Le Mans in 1995. The vehicle we see today combines elements of F1 design, along with parts from the T50 and T50S, enhanced with numerous new features. While the body design evokes the F1, it showcases its distinct character.

For instance, the lighting design shares similarities with the F1 but is unique in its presentation. The side ducting blends classic elements, like the oval slats over the front wheel arch, with newer features such as the scoop on the door's shoulder. The drivetrain has also seen updates.

The 4.3-liter V12 engine located under the rear decklid generates over 700 horsepower (521 kW), while the gearbox incorporates components from the T50 and T50S. The suspension is both lighter and stiffer compared to the T50.

“I have a passion for timeless design. I never want us to join the trend of creating the most outrageous-looking supercar at the expense of balance, beauty, and proportion. Look at the outcome; the car is both timeless and beautiful,” Murray remarked.

The cabin features a three-seat configuration and embodies what GMSV describes as “skeletal architecture.” Only five units of the S1 LM will be produced, all destined for the same buyer, unlike the next vehicle we are discussing.

The Le Mans GTR is a contemporary longtail design.

Next is the Le Mans GTR, which is a direct homage to the F1 GTR Longtail, incorporating design influences from other renowned racers such as the Porsche 917, Alfa Romeo Tipo 33/3, and Matra-Simca MS660. Unlike the S1 LM, the engine in the GTR remains the same as that of the T50, though everything else is significantly altered.

For instance, it eliminates the fan from the T50, leveraging the longtail configuration to minimize drag while enhancing downforce. Larger air intakes, substantial side pods, and additional cooling features keep the Le Mans GTR running at optimal temperatures on the track. A solid drivetrain mounting enhances responsiveness without introducing extra noise and vibration.

Only 24 units will be made, offering extensive customization options for the three-seat interior. “Longtail racing cars harmoniously merge aerodynamic efficiency and aesthetic beauty. I’ve always admired their blend of carefully considered engineering and elegant design,” noted Murray.

“Our Le Mans GTR reinterprets the longtail racers I've respected since I started designing cars, integrating modern aerodynamics with our elegantly engineered chassis, engine, and transmission.”

For buyers with the means, GMSV appears prepared to fulfill nearly any request they can envision, making the possibilities feel limitless.
