Ford Skyrockets to 93 Recalls, and This Time They've Missed Something You Need to Know | Carscoops

Ford has announced two new recalls, bringing their total to 93 for the year.

The recall for the 2025 F-150 Hybrid is due to a seatbelt warning chime issue.

Additionally, certain Broncos fitted with an accessory spare tire carrier are also being recalled.

As Ford approaches its 100th recall, the brand is progressing through its seventh recall campaign, with one focusing on warning chimes and the other on a rearview camera problem.

The first recall affects 56,473 F-150 Hybrids from the 2025 model year. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that if occupants are unbuckled when starting the truck, the seatbelt warning chime may not sound as it should. This noncompliance raises concerns with federal safety standards regarding crash protection.

An employee discovered the chime issue in May, which led to an investigation revealing that the chime may not activate at startup if the 12-volt battery is low. This problem is linked to the Audio Head Unit, where a high voltage interrupt can trigger a reset condition, suppressing the chimes.

Notifications to owners will be sent out in late August, followed by a second letter once a solution is ready. The fix will involve an update to the audio control module software to ensure that chimes play reliably in all starting conditions.

The second recall is smaller, involving 59 “Bronco Upfit kits” sold as accessory parts. These kits, which include a $5,200 package that provides a 2-inch lift, extended fender flares, matte black accents, and an upgraded spare tire carrier, were offered through dealers and Ford Performance.

The issue arises because the government found that the spare tire carrier was incompatible with vehicles equipped only with a rearview camera; it was intended for models with a 360-degree camera system.

Dealers were not informed of this incompatibility, and Ford has received three reports of the issue, which results in a blank rearview camera image. As part of the recall, dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the rearview camera.
