The upcoming muscle car has been spotted filming a commercial in Detroit, just 15 hours ago, reported by Michael Gauthier.

The 2026 Dodge Charger Sixpack has been captured during its commercial shoot in Detroit. This gasoline-powered muscle car is set to be released later this year as it aims to recover from disappointing sales figures. It boasts a twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six engine with power outputs of 420 hp and 550 hp.

The Charger Daytona made a lackluster debut, with fans of Hemi engines rejecting the high-priced electric vehicle. Despite offering significant discounts, Dodge only managed to sell 4,299 units in the first half of the year, which are disappointing numbers. However, relief is on the horizon, as an electric sedan and the Charger Sixpack are both expected to launch in the latter half of this year. The Charger Sixpack is especially noteworthy for its twin-turbo 3.0-liter Hurricane inline-six engine producing 420 hp (313 kW / 426 PS) and 550 hp (410 kW / 558 PS).

While Dodge has not announced an exact release date, it seems to be drawing closer, as a Reddit user filmed a gasoline-powered coupe during the commercial shoot. The footage, taken just a few blocks away from Comerica Park, shows the vibrant red coupe speeding down the street and performing a drift while turning.

The shooting occurred under the watch of two police officers, as the streets were closed for the filming. Additionally, a drone can be seen capturing the entire scene before flying away.

Although the Charger Sixpack closely resembles the electric version, it features a genuine exhaust instead of the fratzonic system. The sound is enjoyable, although it cannot replicate the classic V8 rumble.

We anticipate more information about the vehicle in the upcoming weeks, but the primary concern is likely its pricing. The 2025 Charger Daytona starts at $59,595, marking a significant increase from the 2023 Challenger’s starting price of $32,800. It is expected that the gasoline model will be priced lower than the electric version, though this is yet to be confirmed.
