He Driven This Corvette for 1,600 Miles and Lost More Than $20,000 | Carscoops
Due to the relatively high production volume of the Corvette Stingray, used models are now more attainable than ever.
On July 8, 2025, a 2023 Corvette Stingray Convertible was auctioned for $71,860, having only 1,600 miles on the odometer.
Originally, this vehicle had a manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of $92,720 and was listed for more than $94,000 in 2023. It still retains a factory warranty, providing reassurance for its future owner.
Despite the attention shifting towards high-performance variants such as the ZR1X, ZR1, Z06, and E-Ray, the C8 Corvette Stingray remains a strong contender in the sports car category. Although it may not be the main focus anymore, the so-called "base" model continues to deliver an impressive combination of performance, style, and value.
Additionally, low-mileage models are appearing for less than their original prices, often still under warranty, making this an ideal opportunity for prospective buyers.
Earlier this week, a 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible 2LT Z51 was up for auction on Bring a Trailer, selling for $71,860. This is a great bargain given its initial MSRP of $92,720. It features an appealing configuration with just 1,600 miles (approximately 2,500 km) driven, meaning it’s almost like new.
An Attractive Stingray at a Reduced Price
One of the standout features of this Stingray is its color. It is adorned in Chevrolet's stunning Red Mist Metallic Tintcoat, which extends across the front bumper, side air vents, and rear grilles, similar to the E-Ray. While some might not favor these color-matched details, we believe they enhance the Stingray's overall look.
The eye-catching paint is complemented by Bright Silver wheels measuring 19 and 20 inches, equipped with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tires. This Stingray features the Z51 Performance Package, which includes enhanced suspension tuning, a front splitter, larger brakes, a rear spoiler, an electronic limited-slip differential, and an upgraded exhaust that adds 5 hp.
Inside, the Stingray adopts a more understated style. The interior is entirely finished in Jet Black leather with contrasting stitching, creating a simple yet classic ambiance that balances well with the striking exterior.
Interestingly, this vehicle has a brief auction history on BaT. Its original owner offered it for sale back in January 2023 with only 329 miles on the odometer. Bidding reached $94,000, slightly above MSRP at that time, but the seller's reserve was not met. Now, two and a half years later, the same vehicle has changed hands for over $22,000 less.
