Interior spy photos reveal the SUV’s updated console, screen arrangement, and toggle gear shifter.

Porsche’s upcoming Cayenne Electric offers a wealth of digital features, as shown in new spy images.

In addition to the digital gauge display, the SUV's dashboard features three additional touchscreen displays.

The Cayenne Electric is built on the same PPE platform as the Macan Electric and is set to debut in late 2025.

In light of slower-than-anticipated growth in the luxury electric car market, Porsche has reaffirmed its commitment to producing combustion engine vehicles. Nonetheless, it continues to develop several EVs, including the Cayenne Electric expected to launch later this year.

These latest spy images provide a clear view of the first Cayenne EV’s interior, including its design layout compared to the Macan Electric. If you appreciate screens, the Cayenne will not disappoint, as it consists of four displays integrated into a dashboard and console featuring many recognizable Porsche design elements alongside some new additions.

      More Screens, Fewer Buttons

The upper section of the dashboard includes three displays: one curved non-touch screen positioned behind the main dashboard that serves as a configurable gauge cluster. Adjacent to it are two touchscreens—one located centrally and another above the glovebox—both covered by a single piece of glass, creating the illusion of a seamless display occupying two-thirds of the interior.

In contrast to the Macan, the Cayenne includes an additional tablet-sized touchscreen lower on the console, likely dedicated to managing climate control and seat heating/cooling functions. Physical buttons are noticeably limited, though four toggles for adjusting temperature and a thumbwheel for volume can be spotted.

A Porsche Sport Chrono clock sits atop the dashboard, a feature that has been in use since the introduction of the 997-generation 911 in 2004. The Cayenne Electric features the toggle gear shifter found in Porsche's latest four-door models. However, the console's shape is new, with a noticeable hump beneath the dashboard that may accommodate a smartphone charging tray below.

      Familiar Platform, Fresh Execution

This prototype was observed without heavy camouflage, displaying only some fake headlight, DRL, and grille stickers to obscure the details of a front end likely resembling that of the Macan Electric. Additionally, the Cayenne EV is not merely an electrified version of the ICE Cayenne; it is based on a stretched version of the VW Group PPE platform, shared with the Macan EV as well as Audi’s A6 e-tron and Q6 e-tron.

The Cayenne is expected to utilize some of the motors from the Macan, although it will likely bypass the rear-wheel-drive version that produces 335 hp (340 PS / 250 kW) and start with the 402 hp (406 PS / 300 kW) from the Macan 4. At the high end, a full Turbo variant will likely exceed the Macan Turbo's output of 630 hp (639 PS / 470 kW).

Set to arrive in 2026, starting around $90,000

Anticipate the global premiere of the all-electric Cayenne later this year, with expectations to see the EVs on the road by 2026, starting at approximately $90,000. However, a fully equipped Turbo version could easily surpass the $130,000 mark.
