A Karma Dealer Reportedly Sold Exotic Cars Twice for Millions Before Disappearing | Carscoops
The police are currently investigating an ex-Karma Automotive dealer in Florida accused of selling the same vehicles to multiple clients.
Bul Auto Sales is reportedly involved in selling the same vehicle multiple times and failed to settle outstanding loans.
A man from Dallas paid $235,000 for a Corvette, only to discover later that it had been confiscated by the Sheriff’s Office.
One victim fears that the dealership’s owner, Vladimir Ranguelov, may have fled the country.
Car dealerships are not always known for their transparency, but every so often, one stands out for all the wrong reasons. In Jacksonville, Florida, the owner of the Karma Automotive dealership, Bul Auto Sales, is under investigation for fraud and forgery after allegedly leaving customers with significant financial losses. This situation arises just 15 months after the dealership opened and mere weeks after it silently closed its doors.
What is happening, exactly? Authorities allege that Vladimir Ranguelov, who also managed a site in Albany, New York, sold the same vehicles repeatedly. In one instance, a customer at the Florida location paid $250,000 for a Lamborghini, only to later learn it had been sold to someone else as well. Ultimately, only one buyer received the car, while the other is left with a $250,000 bill.
Cases of Duplicate Sales and Missing Titles
In another reported incident, a 62-year-old man wired $260,000 to the dealership for a McLaren 720S. After driving it for three months, he discovered it had never been registered in his name. When contacted by the dealer, who claimed to have a buyer interested in the 720S, the man assumed his supercar had been sold. He then agreed to purchase a $300,000 Rolls-Royce from Bul Auto Sales, bringing his total losses to $560,000.
Meanwhile, a man from Dallas spent $235,000 on a Corvette, but when he flew to Jacksonville to collect it, he found it missing; it had been seized by the Sheriff’s Office. Furthermore, a 63-year-old had arranged for the dealership to sell his 1994 Porsche 911. He was informed that it had sold for $155,000, yet local law enforcement has found no records of a new owner.
According to News4Jax, the dealership recently ceased its operations without warning. There are also claims that some vehicles were sold without clearing existing liens, which could explain the lack of title transfers and why buyers never received their cars.
Karma Automotive has since suspended its association with Bul Auto Sales as investigations proceed in both Jacksonville and Albany. One alleged victim expressed concern that Ranguelov might have already left the country.
