It appears that the ZR1 and ZR1X models are significantly lowering the value of the E-Ray.

Recently, the Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray, which has an MSRP of $135,915, sold at auction for $103,000 with less than 150 miles on the odometer, rather than fetching a premium.

Just a short while ago, the Corvette E-Ray was highly regarded, known for being the fastest stock Corvette ever, accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.5 seconds. Currently, it has been outshined by the more powerful ZR1 and ZR1X models, affecting its value, as one owner experienced a 25 percent loss during the auction.

The vehicle in question was originally priced at $135,915, which included the E-Ray’s powertrain that features a 495 hp V8 driving the rear wheels and a 160 hp electric motor powering the front, giving a total of 655 horsepower distributed to all four wheels. Additionally, users can operate solely on electric power for quiet neighborhood travel.

This specific car also boasts several appealing options, such as a front axle lifter ($2,595), carbon fiber ground effects ($2,995), and carbon fiber interior trim ($1,500). With only 112 miles on the clock, it is effectively as good as new.

Moreover, it marks a significant milestone in Corvette’s history as it is both all-wheel drive and a hybrid. Nevertheless, it seems that its uniqueness isn’t sufficient to retain its initial value in the long run, as the winning bidder left the auction having paid just $103,000 plus fees.

This reflects a notable 24.2 percent decrease from the MSRP. There is even a possibility that the original buyer may have paid more than the MSRP, as some commenters noted, "What a huge loss. The E-Ray had such high expectations when released, and some dealers added more than $50K to the MSRP."

It is also important to mention that, at the time of writing, some dealers are offering new E-Ray models at prices below the MSRP. If this car has been on your wish list, it may be a good opportunity to purchase one now.
