      While it may appear to be a 1967 Pontiac GTO, it is important not to be misled. Following a thorough restoration, it has very little in common with its original version. In the realm of restomods, this one is a premier example, especially considering that over $1.2 million was invested in the project over two years.

      In August, during Monterey Car Week, it will be up for auction, aiming to find a new home, ideally in a garage with significant financial resources.

      Referred to as the “Twisted 67 GTO,” the aim of this project was simple: to create an enhanced version of the original, with no budget constraints. A glance at the specifications shows that the builders achieved their goal. The body did not undergo a complete redesign nor did it receive a carbon fiber wrap like many contemporary builds; instead, it maintains the classic appearance, albeit in a striking new aqua color.

      The vehicle is built on a C6-based chassis from Roadster Shop, and it is powered by a 427 cubic-inch LS7 V8 paired with a 2.9-liter Whipple supercharger. This engine, finished in matte red, serves as the focal point of the car, highlighted by the custom Pontiac-branded valve covers. The engine bay is undeniably a masterpiece.

      Luxury and Functionality Inside

      The same can be said for the interior. The designers have updated the cabin, draping it in red leather that complements the engine's color. New machined components, custom aluminum throttle and brake pedals, and unique gauges from Dakota Digital have been incorporated. The interior also features billet aluminum parts and handcrafted stainless steel trim with nickel plating.

      This could very well be among the finest restomod interiors available. The trunk has also been given considerable attention, now featuring red leather lining and new carpeting. Naturally, it is equipped with a premium sound system that includes a 12-speaker setup and a 12-inch subwoofer.
