The Toughest CR-V Has Arrived, But It Comes at a Price | Carscoops

The CR-V is offered with a 1.5-liter turbo engine and a hybrid version featuring two electric motors.

The recently introduced 2026 CR-V TrailSport presents a more rugged appearance.

Pricing for the new CR-V TrailSport starts at $40,195 for the hybrid variant.

The base model, CR-V LX 2WD, starts at $32,315, while the top-of-the-range variant is priced at $43,645.

Following the launch of the refreshed 2026 CR-V last month, Honda has announced the pricing details as the model begins arriving at US dealerships. As anticipated, it is slightly more expensive than the previous year's model, but the price increases are modest enough to offer some respite to prospective buyers. This price consistency can likely be attributed to the CR-V being manufactured domestically, as some production has shifted from Canada to the US to mitigate the impact of the Trump administration’s tariffs.

The most significant new feature in the 2026 CR-V lineup is the TrailSport Hybrid model, which is part of the rugged SUV segment and includes several enhancements like distinct front and rear bumper trims, 18-inch Shark Gray wheels, and Continental CrossContact ATR all-terrain tires.

The starting price for the TrailSport is $38,800, which increases to $40,195 after including a $1,395 destination charge. This pricing places it near the higher end of the CR-V lineup, although two variants are slightly more expensive: the Sport-L Hybrid AWD starting at $41,620 and the Sport Touring Hybrid starting at $43,645.

At the entry level, the 2026 CR-V LX 2WD is priced from $32,315, reflecting a modest $820 increase from the previous year's $31,495. The lineup also includes the $33,815 LX AWD, $34,545 EX 2WD, $36,045 EX AWD, $36,795 EX-L 2WD, and $38,295 for the EX-L AWD. The range continues with the Sport Hybrid 2WD, Sport Hybrid AWD, and Sport-L Hybrid 2WD, priced from $37,025, $38,525, and $40,120, respectively.

In terms of power, the 2026 CR-V offers two options. The base models feature a standard 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine delivering 190 horsepower, paired with a CVT. For those seeking more power, the hybrid models incorporate two electric motors, providing a combined output of 204 horsepower and 247 lb-ft of torque.

With over 400,000 units sold in 2024, the CR-V remains highly popular. Honda aims to improve these sales figures even further with the introduction of the new model, particularly with the TrailSport addition.
