      Recent spy photos of the refreshed 2026 Corvette interior show that the GM design team is taking feedback into account. The previously controversial button arrangement on the console has been removed, and the gauge cluster now features an additional screen.

      When the C8 Corvette was launched in 2019, it received enthusiastic praise for adopting a mid-engine configuration and maintaining its value-focused ethos. However, there was an aspect that some enthusiasts disliked, and the designers have used the 2026 facelift to address it.

      Farewell to the Button Wall

      This refers to the pronounced divider between the driver and passenger, particularly the unusual row of buttons that resembled a piece of old film stuck to the console.

      For 2026, this array of buttons has been eliminated and replaced with a more standard set of hard keys positioned below the infotainment screen. This new placement should facilitate easier adjustments to climate controls while driving and enhances the overall appearance of the interior.

      Beyond simply removing the old button lineup, the structure they were attached to has been redesigned. It now features a lower and sleeker profile, which should be appreciated by passengers who felt sidelined in the original C8 and struggled to use the touchscreen. A cutout provides a handle for the front passenger during spirited driving.

      Tech Enhancements and a Subtle Facelift

      The infotainment screen appears larger than its predecessor, and the 2026 C8 includes an additional screen on the left side of the digital gauge cluster. A close-up reveals it displaying icons for oil and water temperatures. Other modifications consist of the removal of the cupholder lid and a recessed starter button, while the square steering wheel seems unchanged.

      In addition to the revamped interior, the 2026 facelift is expected to introduce some discreet exterior design changes, though these adjustments are unlikely to receive as much attention as the much-anticipated Corvette Zora. This high-performance model, named after Zora Arkus-Duntov, the engineer who significantly contributed to the Corvette’s prominence in the 1960s, will integrate the best features of the ZR1 and the all-wheel-drive E-Ray hybrid, potentially producing over 1,200 hp (1,217 PS). Spy images highlight the Zora in convertible form, with a coupe variant also planned.

      There is no confirmed date for the official unveiling of the updated 2026 Corvette yet, but with GM teasing two new colors—Roswell Green and Blade Silver—while retiring Sea Wolf Gray and Rapid Blue Metallic earlier this week, the reveal is expected sometime this summer, followed closely by sales.
