Ford's Recall Spree Continues with Three New Initiatives | Carscoops

With 44 recalls to date, Ford has established itself as the leading automaker in terms of vehicle recalls.

In its latest actions, Ford is recalling 289,944 vehicles through three new campaigns. Two of these recalls are associated with problems regarding rearview cameras, while the 2025 F-150 is being recalled due to a missing airbag warning sticker.

Ford continues to accumulate recalls at a significant rate, recently adding three more to its record. Thus far this year, it has reached a total of 44 recalls, impacting over 1.5 million vehicles—32 more than its closest competitor, Volkswagen.

The first recall affects 128,889 Broncos from the 2022 and 2023 model years. The government reports that their 360-degree camera system may fail to display a rearview image when the vehicle is in reverse, instead showing a blue or black screen. This malfunction raises the risk of collisions and is attributed to issues such as corrosion, accumulation of tin oxide, and misalignment of internal connectors.

When parts become available, Ford will send notifications to owners via mail, instructing them to take their vehicles to a dealership for rearview camera replacement. The new cameras will feature a gold-plated internal connector and enhanced alignment to resolve the issue.

The second recall concerns 160,729 vehicles, including the 2015 Ford F-250, F-350, F-450, and Expedition, alongside the 2015 Lincoln Navigator and MKC. These vehicles also experience rearview camera problems that can lead to a blank or distorted image.

This situation mirrors the prior recall, as the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration indicates that "a loss of electrical conductivity caused by fretting corrosion on the terminal" leads to the image issues. This has been linked to a faulty solder reflow oven at the camera supplier and an unauthorized modification to the camera’s printed circuit board terminal header tooling.

Similar to the first recall, owners will be informed to visit dealerships for their rearview camera replacement.

The final recall involves 326 F-150s from the 2025 model year, which lack an essential airbag warning label meant for the dashboard.

The oversight occurred due to a damaged network cable at an error-proofing station situated at the Dearborn Truck Plant, preventing Ford from identifying the need for the airbag dashboard warning label on certain vehicles.

Since this is a minor issue, Ford plans to mail the missing airbag warning labels to owners. Trucks that are still at dealerships will be inspected and fitted with the label if necessary.
