As a mild retromod, there aren’t many significant alterations to note. Nevertheless, it features a custom canvas roof available in Black, Dark Khaki, Navy, or Sand. Land Rover mentioned that the “side and rear sections can be unzipped and rolled up for a breezy driving experience while still offering some protection from the elements.” Additionally, they have added extra tie-down points to ensure the roof stays secure at highway speeds.
For those seeking a more streamlined option, the Bikini roof is available. It comes in the same colors but only provides coverage for the front seat passengers.
Regarding options, buyers can choose from 49 paint finishes. If they can’t find a suitable color, there’s a Works Bespoke match-to-sample color service available. Customers can also personalize a variety of other features including the grille, door handles, and bonnet script, among others.
Standard equipment includes 16-inch steel wheels with mud-terrain tires. However, customers have the option to upgrade to larger 18-inch alloy wheels in either Black or Limestone.
Customization also applies to the interior, offering five monotone and eight two-tone leather options ranging from Liberty Blue to Garnet. Clients can even request a custom surfboard rack or a built-in wine cooler.
The vehicle is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 engine that generates 405 hp (302 kW / 411 PS) and 380 lb-ft (515 Nm) of torque. It is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and a standard all-wheel drive system featuring a two-speed transfer case, allowing it to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 5.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 106 mph (171 km/h).
In terms of performance, Land Rover Classic has enhanced the driving experience with upgraded Alcon brakes and a modified suspension system. This includes Eibach anti-roll bars, Bilstein dampers, and adjusted spring rates.
Pricing in the UK starts at £195,000 ($260,170) before local taxes, which is nearly £50,000 ($66,730) higher than the new Defender OCTA, and buyers will receive a one-year unlimited mileage warranty.
