The lightly used 2025 BMW M850i xDrive Coupe is equipped with a carbon roof and Merino leather seats.

      While it is not a full M model, the M850i boasts a robust twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 engine.

This two-door coupe is painted in Carbon Black and features a $3,350 matte gray exterior wrap.

The scarcely used vehicle recently sold for $80,000, even though it had an MSRP of around $115,000.

Rumors suggest that the 8-Series lineup may be discontinued next year, potentially to pave the way for a reintroduced 6-Series, though BMW maintains that's not the case. It’s disappointing either way, as the 8-Series might currently be one of the most attractive cars produced by the Bavarian manufacturer, particularly in coupe form. However, like many premium German vehicles, depreciation sets in quickly.

For instance, take the 2025 BMW M850i xDrive Coupe. It was acquired in December 2024 and had less than 1,800 miles (approximately 2,800 km) on the odometer when it appeared on Cars & Bids. The final sale price? $80,000.

Considering that a new M850i starts at $107,300, and this model was enhanced to around $115,000, excluding several thousand dollars for extras like the wrap, which brought the seller’s total closer to $120,000 before taxes and fees, the reduction in value after less than five months on the road is quite steep.

Undoubtedly, the original owner faced a significant financial loss, but the buyer came away with a fantastic deal. Although this is not the high-performance M8, the base 840i Coupe has a starting price of $91,700. Compared to that, the M850i delivers more power, enhanced performance, and considerably greater visual appeal.

The M850i xDrive Coupe is presented in standard Carbon Black but features a satin gray wrap, a $3,350 investment as per the owner's receipt. The interior is adorned with BMW’s Tartufo and Black full Merino leather, a $2,000 option, alongside the carbon fiber roof. Apart from the wrap, the car has had its original exhaust resonator removed and is equipped with aftermarket wheel spacers.

Powering the M850i is BMW’s N63 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8, producing 523 hp and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm) of torque. This power is distributed to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. The luxurious two-door coupe accelerates from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 3.6 seconds, all while exuding an alluring design.

It's hard to speculate how long vehicles like this will remain in production. Large, fuel-consuming V8s wrapped in luxury coupe frames don’t seem particularly “future-proof” amidst the rise of EV regulations and compact models. Nonetheless, if you're a fan of high-performing, well-engineered German vehicles and are looking for a bargain, the used market is gradually becoming an attractive option. Just be cautious about being the first to dive in.
