The Tesla pickup suffered extensive damage both inside and outside while parked in LA this January.

According to the listing, the main damage was from burns in the cabin, with graffiti and glass damage being secondary issues.

The dashboard, steering wheel, and infotainment system are missing, though the rear seats can still be salvaged.

It is well-known that Tesla and its Cybertruck model generate strong opinions today. Whether it concerns the design, the rollout, or the overall brand image, reactions tend to be quite polarized. This division has made the truck a frequent target for protests and occasionally more severe actions. Recently, a notorious Cybertruck that caught fire and was subsequently vandalized with graffiti is now going up for auction.

The estimated auction price? Approximately $82,000. And based on our highly accurate evaluations, it may cost about $81,999 to restore. It’s quite a bargain, really, if you’ve ever desired a post-apocalyptic sculpture that used to be a truck.

This electric vehicle met its tragic fate in January while in a parking lot in LA. Carscoops reported on the incident soon after it occurred. The truck remained largely untouched in the same condition you see now. The hood is damaged, the driver’s side has fire exposure, broken glass, and holes in the firewall. The tires are burnt, and graffiti covers the entire vehicle.

The origin of the damage remains unclear, but it’s possible that a fire started inside the cabin. Following that, firefighters may have cut the hood, as the high-voltage cutoff is located beneath it and near the windshield. Afterward, bystanders could have engaged in further vandalism.

Importantly, the salvage auction indicates that an “interior burn” was the primary damage, while vandalism was listed as secondary. Consequently, the interior appears to be in as poor a condition as the exterior. The steering wheel is missing, parts of the dashboard are absent, and the infotainment system reportedly does not work. On the bright side, the back seats appear to be salvageable.

As we noted in our earlier report, the truck often resembles a unique artwork. It certainly could be displayed as a piece reflecting the unusual times we are experiencing and the public’s reaction to this truck and Tesla in general. Depending on your perspective, it might even deserve a spot in a gallery as a commentary on public sentiment regarding Tesla and its controversial design choices.

What are your thoughts? Would you consider bidding on this fire-damaged, graffiti-filled Cybertruck? Regardless, it’s sure to spark conversations. Share in the comments what you would be willing to pay for it.
