Ram Announces 25 New Models Over the Next 18 Months, Kicking Off in June | Carscoops

Now is an opportune time to be a fan of the Ram brand, as it appears to have numerous new models in the pipeline.

Under new management, Ram aims to regain some of the allure it has lost.

One of its key new offerings will be a mid-size pickup for the U.S. market. Recent reports also indicate that a new iteration of the 1500 TRX is being developed.

Exciting developments are underway at Ram, and if the new leadership is accurate, the upcoming year and a half might be filled with significant announcements. Following a period of quiet, the truck manufacturer seems poised to make some impactful statements.

Tim Kuniskis, the former head of Dodge who is now leading Ram, states that the brand plans to reveal 25 production-related announcements over the next 18 months. The first of these is set for June 8, marking what Kuniskis describes as a significant new chapter for the company. These remarks were made on LinkedIn, shortly before the New York Auto Show.

While Kuniskis did not provide specifics, he mentioned that the Ram team has been actively “shaping the next evolution of Ram” in recent months, embarking on a “bold new chapter that respects the brand’s legacy while redefining its future.”

He expressed his pride in returning to the team, stating he is “more determined than ever to show the world… nothing stops Ram.”

      Midsize Truck on the Horizon

So, what does Ram have planned? One of the most anticipated new models is a midsize pickup for the U.S. market. Ram has been working on this model for several years, and in late 2024, then CEO Chris Feuell confirmed that it would be launched in 2025.

Ram has not disclosed whether this truck will compete with established midsize models like the Ford Ranger, Chevrolet Colorado, and GMC Canyon, or smaller alternatives like the Ford Maverick and Hyundai Santa Cruz. However, recent reports suggest that the new model might be built on one of Stellantis’ unibody platforms, likely produced at the Belvidere Assembly Plant in Illinois.

Furthermore, Ram needs to address the gap left by the discontinuation of the 1500 Classic. This decision, which led to 1,100 layoffs, created a noticeable void in the brand’s lineup. Last month, Ram CFO Doug Ostermann acknowledged the need for a successor, which fueled speculation about new models on the way.

Additionally, there are said to be several other exciting vehicles in development at Ram. Recent reports indicate that the 5.7-liter and 6.4-liter Hemi V8 engines will soon make a comeback in the Ram 1500 models. The brand is also reportedly preparing a new 1500 TRX that could feature a supercharged V8 generating even more power than the first-generation model, which delivered 702 hp and 650 lb-ft (880 Nm).
