Unsure about what to do with that extra wheel? Convert it into a fan.

I'm a huge fan of transforming car parts into art, furniture, or a combination of both. For many years, I crafted a desk out of a Mercedes-Benz W123 trunk lid that I discovered in a field; it eventually found a place in a museum. Currently, I'm working on creating small keychains from the rusted floors of my Citroën 2CV. Metal Works Studio, based in Ukraine, came up with an idea I had never thought of: they made a fan using an alloy wheel from a Mercedes-AMG.
The project is not as challenging as it may seem. It requires some fabrication, basic tools, and, of course, a fan. I'm referring to an actual fan meant to cool a room or workshop, as opposed to an electric cooling fan typically found behind a car's radiator (although that would be even more impressive).
Metal Works Studio showcased the process in a brief video shared on Instagram. The workshop acquired a standard floor fan that can be purchased at most retailers, along with a 20-inch matte black alloy wheel that likely came from an AMG. They took apart the fan and modified the front grille to fit within the wheel. Following that, they drilled holes in the sides of the wheel to attach the grille and the fan’s original stand. This is definitely a “measure twice and cut once” kind of project, particularly when considering the cost of an AMG wheel.
After all components were drilled, trimmed, and painted, Metal Works Studio reassembled the fan inside the wheel and secured it to the stand. The final product is stunning. It would fit perfectly in a garage, but I could also see it seamlessly integrated into a living room—though that ultimately depends on your partner's taste for such items.

If you have a preference for a different manufacturer, you can use this basic method to create a fan from almost any alloy as long as it is large enough to accommodate a fan and allows sufficient airflow.
So, if you favor classic Minis with 10-inch steel wheels, you're out of luck. Perhaps one of those could be repurposed into a clock instead?
