All 15 classic Range Rovers are set to receive enhanced V8 engines, refurbished interiors, and 10.1-inch displays.

Vinile is revitalizing the original 3.5-liter, 3.9-liter, and 4.3-liter V8s with upgrades.

Additionally, the interiors will be reupholstered with luxurious Baxter leather.

The Italian firm currently operates five production facilities and employs 100 people.

Just when it seemed that the restomod trend was becoming scarce, a new contender has emerged—this time from Italy, as expected. A recently established company named Vinile, located in Maranello, has introduced its version of the classic Range Rover, the legendary SUV produced from 1969 to 1996. The proposed initiative? Create just 15 fully customizable versions, starting at €280,000 (approximately $309,000 at current exchange rates) before considering any additional features.

The firm is led by three local entrepreneurs, and despite its recent inception, it claims to already have a workforce of 100 and five production sites. The development of its first project is still in progress, so currently, Vinile is showcasing the final product through a series of digital designs. Like most restomods, the objective here is to enhance performance while incorporating high-quality materials and technology, all without losing the original essence of the vehicle.

Powertrains Paying Homage to the Past

Vinile states that its Range Rover models will feature the original 3.5-liter, 3.9-liter, and 4.3-liter V8 engines, albeit updated to produce around 200 horsepower. Up to this point, Vinile has not indicated whether it will completely disassemble the SUV to its original chassis and rebuild it from scratch.

What is confirmed is that new body panels for the iconic British 4×4 will be created, alongside new grilles. Custom wing mirrors, new bumpers, and 16-inch aftermarket wheels equipped with 245/70 BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A tires will also be installed.

Hence, if you own the original Range Rover and still value it despite its age but desire modern conveniences and a luxurious ambiance—and can afford to spend over 300 grand—Vinile would be eager to connect with you. However, for that price range, you might prefer something far more exotic, like a brand-new Ferrari, Porsche, or McLaren—unless, of course, your love for the Range Rover runs deep and you potentially already have a supercar or two in your garage for driving excitement.

      Modern Technology Meets Vintage Allure

The cabin will undergo a significant transformation aimed at mimicking the comfort and ambiance of a lounge. Vinile will cover the seats, steering wheel, dashboard, and door panels in premium Baxter leather. Features will include a precision-milled center console and burl wood accents on the door trims, along with switchgear inspired by aviation and a space in the dashboard designed to hold the owner's watch.

A notable feature of the reimagined interior of the Range Rover Classic is the freestanding 10.1-inch infotainment system equipped with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Each unit will be outfitted with a bespoke audio system featuring two subwoofers, ten Focal speakers, and three Rockford amplifiers.

Thus, if the original Range Rover still resonates with your enthusiast spirit but you seek the refinement and luxury that no stock ‘80s SUV can provide, Vinile may be worth considering. With a starting price above $300,000, this offering is clearly not intended for casual nostalgics; rather, it is geared towards collectors who already own supercars or those with a profound, perhaps unquenchable passion for classic Land Rovers.
