These two vehicles are merely the beginning of numerous actual race cars soon to be offered.

Audi is putting some of its race cars up for sale, including those that have achieved victory in prominent competitions.

The new initiative starts with two iconic models, the RS 5 DTM and the R18 e-tron Quattro.

The most exciting aspect is that the cars from this program will be delivered to buyers in a driveable state.

If you've ever dreamed of racing on a track in an authentic race car that has real trophies in its history, Audi has an intriguing opportunity for you. The brand is introducing a new program that allows enthusiasts to acquire genuine, competition-tested race cars, refurbished and ready for the road. These are not just any used vehicles; Audi is launching the program with two cars that have previously graced the winners' podium.

Named the Audi Sport Racing Legends project, this new initiative is precisely as it sounds: it entails selling former race cars to everyday enthusiasts. However, Audi is being discerning about who gets to own these vehicles, aiming for buyers who appreciate the legacy, not merely the performance.

Audi is commencing the program with the sale of two remarkable cars. Notably, the 207 chassis of the R18 e-tron Quattro, which secured victory in the 2012 FIA World Endurance Championship at Spa-Francorchamps. Although this isn't the exact vehicle that triumphed at Le Mans in 2012, it belongs to the same series.

Legendary Cars, Ready for Another Chapter

Additionally, Audi is offering an RS 5 DTM, chassis 107, which clinched the 2015 DTM finale in Hockenheim. Buyers need not worry about the condition of these vehicles. "We refurbish these chassis using restored parts from that time, transforming them into racing cars according to stringent standards and with a high level of expertise," states Rolf Michl, Managing Director of Audi Sport GmbH. "In some instances, even the original developers from that era contribute to the current projects."

More Than Just a Car Sale

What can buyers expect from the entire experience? According to Michl, it encompasses more than just a sale – it’s an entry into an exclusive community. “The Audi R18 e-tron Quattro and the RS 5 DTM are among the fastest racing cars we've ever manufactured. Customers can anticipate not only highly coveted racing cars but also an exhilarating driving experience. Our customers join an elite group, benefiting from our motorsport knowledge and receiving extensive support.”

This support is substantive, as Audi intends to offer ongoing assistance, even if owners wish to take their cars back to the track for some leisurely enjoyment.

Before they find new owners, these cars will be showcased at several events: in Germany from May 9–11, in France from July 3–6, and at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK from July 10–13. Sales are expected to commence later in the year.
