2026 Polestar 2 Appears Unchanged but Features Significant Interior Enhancements | Carscoops
Polestar aims to enhance the appeal of its EV with a quicker infotainment system, a superior audio setup, and a new exterior color.
The Polestar 2 is equipped with a Snapdragon chip that enhances the speed and connectivity of its infotainment system.
The optional Bowers & Wilkins audio system features 14 speakers and delivers 1,350 Watts of high-quality sound.
Additionally, the new CATL-sourced 70 kWh battery increases the WLTP range of the base model to 344 miles.
The Polestar 2, which has been part of the lineup since its debut in 2019, has received updates over the years, including a facelift in 2023. For 2026, the all-electric liftback is set for a tech-oriented refresh with a new infotainment processor, an optional Bowers & Wilkins sound system, and improved personalization options.
In terms of exterior changes, the Polestar 2 now comes in a new Dune color, a sandy shade with a smooth mica finish that replaces the previous Jupiter color. The optional Performance Pack also includes updated 20-inch forged alloy wheels with a new five-spoke design.
Inside, the EV features an advanced Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, aligning its computing capabilities more closely with the rest of the Polestar range. This upgrade results in faster download speeds, enhanced responsiveness, and improved overall infotainment performance.
A notable addition is the optional Bowers & Wilkins audio system, which boasts 14 speakers and a combined output of 1,350 Watts. Furthermore, the optional Plus Pack offers new bio-attributed MicroTech upholstery in Charcoal with a quilted design and Black Ash inserts. The new Prime Pack combines the Pilot, Plus, and Climate packs, along with privacy glass for the rear side and rear windows.
There are no mechanical updates for 2026, but the CATL-sourced 70 kWh battery, introduced last year, will be offered in more markets, replacing the previous 69 kWh battery from LG Chem. This change slightly boosts the WLTP range of the Standard Range Single Motor variant from 546 km (339 miles) to 554 km (344 miles).
Additionally, the Polestar 2 supports the Plug & Charge technology introduced with the Polestar 3, allowing users to plug in to a public charger and have the vehicle handle the authentication process automatically.
The 2026 Polestar 2 is currently available for order in Europe, with plans to expand to other markets, including the US, later this year.
