Cupra Collaborates with ABT for Exclusive Editions | Carscoops

      Cupra and ABT have come together to collaborate on a range of special edition models, beginning with the Leon and Formentor in 2026.

      The two companies unveiled this partnership focused on creating "customized vehicles."

      The first models include the Cupra Leon and Formentor, with additional models anticipated in the future.

      ABT's modifications will feature subtle aerodynamic enhancements and 21-inch alloy wheels.

      While ABT is renowned for enhancing Audi models, the German tuning firm is now broadening its collaborations within the Volkswagen Group, teaming up with Cupra to develop a series of customized vehicles.

      This announcement was made at ABT’s headquarters in Kempten, Germany, further solidifying the partnership between the two brands, who are already collaborating in the Extreme E and Formula E motorsport series.

      The initial Cupra models to be reworked by ABT will be the Leon and Formentor. Although ABT currently offers aftermarket options for these models, Cupra will introduce special ABT-modified versions starting in 2026.

      The two vehicles, which underwent a major redesign last year, will feature an ABT-designed body kit and a new set of 21-inch alloy wheels that enhance their sporty appearance. The exterior modifications from ABT include a sharper front splitter, matching side skirts and rear diffuser extensions, a larger rear spoiler, and distinct ABT branding.

      The official announcement did not specify any performance or chassis enhancements for the Leon and Formentor, suggesting that the ABT special edition models may focus solely on aesthetics.

      However, ABT's aftermarket catalog does offer engine upgrades and stiffer suspension springs to enhance driving dynamics.

      According to ABT, the Cupra Leon and Formentor are “just the beginning of a long-term partnership in the years ahead.” The fully electric Cupra Raval, which shares its platform with the upcoming VW ID.2, is another model slated to receive a similar upgrade.

We are thrilled to showcase a customized special edition of the Cupra Formentor and Leon that bears the ABT name.”
