Tesla has decided to phase out the Model Y Launch Series in Europe, opting for a standard trim lineup instead.

The electric SUV now features three trim options: RWD, RWD Long Range, and AWD Long Range.

Pricing closely resembles, and in one case is even lower than, the outgoing Model Y.

Just over a month after unveiling the 2026 Model Y, Tesla has introduced the standard versions of the facelifted electric crossover in Europe. This signals the end of the brief Launch Series Model Y, which lasted only six weeks on the European market. Customers can now select from three standard trims and personalize features as they wish. As a key element of Tesla’s success, the Model Y and this launch hold significant importance.

Codenamed “Juniper,” the updated Model Y features numerous enhancements, such as better efficiency, a revamped interior, revised suspension tuning, and a refreshed exterior design. It initially went on sale globally, including in the US, in early January as a fully equipped Launch Edition based on the Long Range AWD variant.

This limited-edition Model Y included nearly every available option, covering everything from the $8,000 Full Self-Driving (Supervised) package to all available exterior and interior color selections. While it remains available in the US, the Launch Edition is no longer offered in Europe, where Tesla has presented the standard models—excluding the Performance variant, which has yet to be introduced.

      Three Models to Choose From

European buyers can now select from three trims. The base Model Y RWD (rear-wheel drive) is available at €44,990 (about $46,980), the same price as the prior version. Notably, the Long Range RWD variant is priced at €49,990 ($52,300), which is €1,000 ($1,050) more than the earlier model. Conversely, the Long Range AWD model costs €52,990 ($55,450), making it €2,000 ($2,100) less expensive than its predecessor. Could a similar reduction be seen in the US? It's difficult to determine, but it's definitely a positive indication.

Pearl White is the only color available at no extra charge, while other colors start at €1,300 ($1,360). The premium shades Ultra Red and Quicksilver are priced at double that amount. All trims come with standard 19-inch wheels, while the Long Range models can be upgraded to 20-inch wheels for an additional €2,200 ($2,300).

Basic Autopilot comes standard, but Enhanced Autopilot is available for €3,800, whereas “Full potential for autonomous driving,” referred to as Full Self-Driving (Supervised) in the US, costs €7,500 ($7,850). Those interested in acquiring one of these updated Model Ys can expect deliveries around May or June according to Tesla.

      What About The USA?

Given the nearly simultaneous global launch of the Launch Edition, it is probable that Tesla will introduce the standard versions of the 2026 Model Y in North America within the next few weeks. This will provide US customers with more options and improved pricing.

Currently, the Launch Edition retails at $59,990 before taxes, along with the $7,500 federal tax credit for eligible buyers. In contrast, the pre-facelift Model Y starts at $44,990 for the Long Range RWD, $47,990 for the Long Range AWD, and $51,490 for the Performance AWD.
