American Expedition Vehicles has introduced their inaugural Ford build.

This model, called the FXL, is based on the F-Series Super Duty.

It features a 4-inch lift, 40-inch tires, and robust bumpers.

The Detroit Auto Show will commence on January 14th, and American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) is getting a head start by revealing their new FXL. This truck is designed for off-road performance and is based on the Ford F-250 and F-350 models.

Starting with the turn-key variant, it includes HighMark fender flares and a steel front bumper specifically designed to accommodate a 20,000 lb (9,072 kg) winch. This bumper is also noteworthy for its consideration of driver assistance systems, allowing for the integration of radar components.

We can also notice a high clearance rear bumper, bodyside graphics, and AEV branding, along with several accessories like mud flaps and auxiliary lights.

However, the truck's standout feature is its 4-inch DualSport suspension system, equipped with Bilstein shocks and unique coil springs. This setup allows the vehicle to utilize 18-inch beadlock-capable wheels fitted with 40-inch BFGoodrich HD-Terrain tires. AEV aimed to fit these tires with the “least amount of lift possible” to enhance off-road performance while ensuring “ride quality, stability, and confident on-road behavior.”

The FXL will be manufactured at AEV’s facility in Wixom, Michigan, and will be available through authorized dealerships. Pricing details have not yet been released, but the truck will come with a 3-year or 36,000-mile (57,936 km) warranty.

For those interested in customizing rather than purchasing the complete vehicle, AEV will sell several components individually. Some of these parts, including the front bumper, are compatible with other models such as the F-450 and F-550.
