The Dacia Spring experiences a significant price reduction in Germany, featuring a €5,000 discount and a lightweight configuration specifically targeting urban electric vehicle drivers.

Dacia has lowered the price of the Spring by €5,000 in Germany through February 28.

With the new pricing set at €11,900, it is more affordable than in the UK.

To benefit from the discount, buyers must register the electric vehicle by June 30.

Purchasing a new electric car has become even more economical in Germany, as Europe’s most affordable EV continues to lead the market. The all-electric Dacia Spring now begins at just €11,900 (approximately $13,900) due to a substantial €5,000 (around $5,900 at current exchange rates) discount. This makes it significantly cheaper in Germany compared to the UK.

This discount is not a government subsidy or dealer rebate; instead, it is directly applied to the vehicle’s base price and is time-sensitive. To enjoy the full €5,000 reduction, buyers must complete a purchase or lease agreement by February 28. Additionally, the vehicle must be registered by June 30.

Beyond the standout price, the Spring includes a standard seven-year or 150,000-kilometer warranty. It boasts a compact design, weighing in at 995 kg (2,193 pounds) and measuring 3.7 meters (12.1 feet) in length.

What is included for the price?

Naturally, such a low-cost car comes with trade-offs. The Spring is equipped with a 24.3 kWh lithium-iron phosphate battery, which powers a single front-mounted electric motor generating just 70 horsepower. Its production in China also contributes to its low price.

Dacia claims it can achieve a commendable average of 12.7 kWh/100 km over the combined cycle, providing up to 225 km (140 miles) of driving range. For urban driving, this range can extend to as much as 341 km (212 miles).

Remarkably, this isn’t the most astonishing offer we’ve seen for the Dacia Spring. Under a new government initiative in Italy aimed at encouraging residents to replace their old internal combustion engine vehicles with electric ones, the Spring is available for as low as €3,900 ($4,600).

To qualify for the maximum discount of €11,000 ($13,900), individuals must scrap a Euro 5 or older vehicle, reside in a city with over 50,000 inhabitants, and have a family income below €30,000 ($35,100).
