This 2022 Challenger Claims It Was Created in 1969 | Carscoops
This hand-crafted muscle car from ExoMod resembles a 1969 Daytona, performs like a 2022 Hellcat, and might rank among Barrett Jackson’s most unusual offerings.
ExoMod has transformed a Challenger into a tribute to the Daytona.
The Hellcat's 6.2-liter supercharged V8 continues to produce 797 hp.
It's set to go to auction in January with Barrett Jackson.
Occasionally, a creation appears that prompts a second look, making you question your feelings about it. Two years ago, ExoMod showcased a custom 2022 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye designed to mimic a 1969 Dodge Daytona.
That very car is now poised for auction in mid-January. While it may not appeal to everyone, its appearance is undoubtedly eye-catching.
It took ExoMod roughly 3,500 hours to convert the contemporary Challenger into a full Daytona homage. Each original body panel was replaced with hand-crafted carbon fiber, one piece at a time, until no original metal remained.
From Muscle Car to Unique Carbon Fiber Build

The most outlandish aspect of the design is the front end, where the tuner has designed a new nose reminiscent of the classic Daytona. However, unlike the sleek and aggressive front end of the Daytona, this version has a more rounded and unusual appearance.
That said, the muscle car does feature some appealing angles. At the rear, there’s a prominent wing similar to the original, along with exposed carbon fiber around the taillights. It includes a carbon fiber rear diffuser and dual exhausts that emerge from the center of the bumper.
Thanks to the new panels, this Challenger is now 4 inches wider than the original 1969 model but 5.5 inches shorter. It's somewhat disappointing that the interior remains largely stock, although the seats and door panels have been reupholstered.
ExoMod also opted not to modify the Hellcat’s 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine, which doesn’t require any changes. It still delivers 797 hp, more than enough to outpace some million-dollar supercars at stoplights.
The original eight-speed automatic transmission is retained, delivering power to large 315/35 ZR20 rear tires.
Barrett Jackson is overseeing the sale of the vehicle and highlights that it received the Super Street/Modified Blue Ribbon Award at the 2023 Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals, earning 998 out of a possible 1,000 points.
Curious about what 3,500 hours of carbon fiber craftsmanship looks like? You can view the complete listing on Barrett Jackson’s website before the January auction and decide for yourself whether it transcends into brilliance, insanity, or a bit of both.
