A new handcrafted wooden EV playset has been launched featuring modular components, an innovative magnet design, and a charming desk toy aesthetic.

The kit includes replicas of the R1T, R1S, and RCV mounted on a shared base.

Tesla also offers comparable wooden models of the Cybertruck.

No automotive brand has embraced quirky merchandise quite like Tesla. With offerings such as karaoke microphones, salt-and-pepper shakers, backpacks, and $300 Mezcal bottles, its online store has consistently straddled the line between promotional and eccentric. It appears Rivian has been taking inspiration from this, introducing its own expanding range of accessories aimed at lifestyle appeal.

The newest addition is a $150 wooden vehicle set, ideal for both children and adults seeking a unique decorative item for their desks. Reportedly handmade, the set features a sturdy skateboard-style base that can hold the replica bodies of the R1T, R1S, and Rivian’s all-electric commercial vehicle, the RCV.

Each kit, priced at $150, comes with the skateboard base, painted R1T and R1S bodies in red and blue, and the RCV body equipped with a detachable windshield. It also includes separate tops for the R1S and R1T, all of which can be effortlessly connected using strong magnets.

To prevent any risk of children swallowing the magnets, they are embedded within the wooden parts, ensuring they cannot be removed and played with. Most components are crafted from Birch wood, although the RCV incorporates some more affordable MDF parts.

Despite its steep price, the kit is undeniably appealing. However, it isn’t entirely unique. Tesla offers a similar wooden playset in its store for just $60. Tesla's kit consists of a wooden model of the Semi and a replica of the Cybertruck. While Tesla's models are smaller than Rivian's and lack the magnetic feature, they share a striking resemblance.

However, one significant distinction exists: Rivian's version is available for purchase now, making it timely for holiday gifting, whereas Tesla's set is currently out of stock.
