Toyota has recently introduced the 2026 model year of the Corolla, set to be available in Europe.

The GR Sport and Touring editions now come in a new matte Onyx Grey color, while a new metallic shade called Storm Grey has been added to the hatchback and sedan options.

The interior also receives updates, featuring recycled Samara seat materials and new trim.

In October, Toyota showcased a striking Corolla concept that hinted at potential future designs, but the current 12th-generation model remains in production and has been refreshed for the 2026 model year in Europe.

This update primarily focuses on exterior color options. For the first time, the GR Sport and Touring Sports versions will be offered in matte Onyx Grey, marking a debut for this color in a high-demand production model. It is expected to reach the UK before the year ends and will be available in other European countries soon thereafter.

Another new color introduced for 2026 is Storm Grey, a metallic hue that complements both the sedan and hatchback variants of the Corolla.

Interior modifications include the expanded use of durable Samara upholstery, derived from recycled materials, for the seatbacks and cushions in the Mid grade and Touring Sports models. The Mid+ Sedan model also features a unique Samara seat design.

Aside from these updates, the Corolla remains unchanged and still offers 1.8-liter and 2.0-liter hybrid engines, with the smaller engine producing 138 hp and the larger one rated at 178 hp. Interestingly, the previous 2025 model listed the 2.0-liter engine at 193 hp, and Toyota has not clarified the 15 hp discrepancy.

All 2026 Corolla models continue to include the Toyota Safety Sense package, which works in conjunction with the multimedia system for over-the-air software updates. Additionally, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster will remain standard across all variants, including the top-tier GR Corolla.
