The larger Yaris Cross for Southeast Asia has introduced a Nightshade edition featuring darker styling and additional features.

Toyota has unveiled the Yaris Cross Nightshade edition in Thailand.

This SUV sports a new grille design along with dark exterior accents.

The vehicle maintains the 110 hp self-charging hybrid powertrain without any changes.

Toyota’s compact SUV lineup has evolved into two distinct Yaris Cross models, each tailored for different regions of the world. While both fit into the subcompact SUV category, the larger version for Southeast Asia has now adopted a more dramatic look with the new Nightshade edition debuting in Thailand.

This update includes a semi-covered grille, darker accents, and an extensive array of standard features.

The Yaris Cross intended for Southeast Asian markets first launched in Indonesia in 2023, featuring sharp LED headlights, a broad grille, and deep bumper intakes, reminiscent of a smaller Highlander prior to its facelift.

      ### What's New?

The new Nightshade edition introduces a unique “Metro Stylish” grille that features body-colored trim behind the Toyota emblem, along with a revised pattern underneath. This enhancement refreshes the crossover’s look, making it appear as if it has undergone a mild update.

Additional exterior modifications consist of black 18-inch alloy wheels and dark details distributed throughout the body. The glossy black finish extends to the lower cladding, intake garnish, skid plates, window surrounds, mirrors, spoiler, and tailgate, resulting in a cohesive shadowed aesthetic.

Paint options are limited to Cement Gray Metallic or Platinum White Pearl, both paired with a contrasting black roof.

Inside, the cabin adopts a dark theme with seats covered in synthetic leather, while the door panels, steering wheel, center console, and gear knob feature genuine leather trim.

The Nightshade edition is derived from the high-spec variant of the Yaris Cross and comes loaded with features. Standard equipment includes a fixed panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, a 10.1-inch infotainment display, an electric tailgate, and the Toyota Safety Sense ADAS suite.

      ### Power and Price

Unlike the global version which utilizes Toyota’s TNGA-B platform, the Southeast Asian Yaris Cross is built on the Daihatsu-developed DNGA architecture. It is also 130 mm (5.1 inches) longer than the European model, measuring 4,310 mm (169.7 inches) in length.

Thai consumers will find a single self-charging hybrid option available, producing a combined 110 hp (82 kW / 112 PS) from a 1.5-liter Dual VVT-i petrol engine paired with an electric motor.

Power is delivered solely to the front wheels via an E-CVT automatic transmission. This setup is consistent across the range, and the Nightshade does not offer any enhancements to the powertrain or suspension.

In Thailand, pricing begins at 919,000 baht (approximately $28,800), making it the highest-priced option in the Yaris Cross lineup. The standard variants range from 789,000 to 899,000 baht ($24,700–28,100), with the Nightshade standing out as the most premium and visually striking choice in the lineup.
