Jeep has unveiled the updated 2026 Grand Cherokee, featuring enhanced styling, a redesigned interior, and a new turbocharged engine.

The latest model showcases a refreshed appearance with a new front fascia and an expanded 12.3-inch display. It is equipped with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine that delivers a noteworthy 324 horsepower.

As Jeep continues to innovate, having recently reintroduced the Cherokee and revamped the Grand Wagoneer, the focus is now on the Grand Cherokee for a significant update this year.

On the exterior, the vehicle sports a brand-new front fascia, complete with a sleeker seven-slot grille and newly designed headlights, which feature an evolutionary aesthetic.

While changes to the exterior are minimal, the Grand Cherokee includes new trim options and an updated rear bumper. Additionally, the color choices have broadened to include Copper Shino, Fathom Blue, and Steel Blue.

Inside, the updates persist with a revised dashboard and the notable 12.3-inch infotainment system, marking a significant improvement over the previous 8.4- and 10.1-inch displays. There's also new switchgear and a modernized center stack.

Jeep has streamlined the trim lineup, which now features the Laredo, Limited, and Summit variants. However, an extensive range of packages complicates the selection process, and it's worth noting that the Grand Cherokee 4xe is available in Limited, Summit, and Trailhawk configurations.

This results in a somewhat overwhelming lineup, which Jeep has tried to clarify. Yet, without pricing details, delving into the specifics remains somewhat futile.

The base model includes new 18-inch wheels and chrome details, along with various driver assistance features, such as automatic emergency braking, rear cross-path detection, blind-spot monitoring, and active lane management.

Higher trims offer added luxury, featuring a dual-pane panoramic sunroof and a nine-speaker Alpine premium audio system. Buyers can opt for Nappa or Palermo leather, as well as heated, ventilated, and massaging front seats. Audiophiles may choose a 19-speaker McIntosh audio system.

The 2026 Grand Cherokee and Grand Cherokee L come with a familiar 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine that produces 293 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Certain trims also feature a new 2.0-liter Hurricane 4 Turbo equipped with Turbulent Jet Ignition technology.

Further details on the engine will be provided soon, but this unit generates 324 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. Jeep indicates that customers can expect best-in-class driving range of 506 miles and a towing capacity of 6,200 lbs.

For added efficiency, there's the Grand Cherokee 4xe, equipped with a plug-in hybrid powertrain that combines a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, a 17.3 kWh battery pack, and an eight-speed automatic transmission featuring an integrated electric motor.

This configuration allows the vehicle to achieve a combined output of 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque.

The 2026 Jeep Grand Cherokee is anticipated to arrive at dealerships later this year, with full specifications and pricing to be announced shortly.
