The next-generation Sandero is projected to launch in 2028 with a new design.

Renderings depict sleeker lights, sharper contours, and a taller stance.

Dacia may introduce a hybrid option that combines petrol and electric power.

Earlier this month, Dacia applied another round of updates to the Sandero and Sandero Stepway, marking the second facelift within three years. This effort serves to keep the lineup appealing for a bit longer, but it is probably the last enhancement before a completely new generation arrives in 2028.

The renderings shared by Kolesa aim to forecast the appearance of the next Sandero in Stepway form, although the standard hatchback is expected to retain most design elements.

The visual design seems more modern than the current facelift, though opinions may vary on whether it is an actual improvement.

Since Dacia has not commenced public testing yet, these digital images are purely speculative. Nonetheless, they provide an idea of the direction the next Stepway could take.

The front presents narrower headlights with slim daytime running lights, a black lower grille, and tidy vertical air curtains that enhance airflow and sharpen the front fascia.

Overall, the front design is appealing. However, the side profile appears somewhat unusual. While the existing model features soft curves and flared arches at both the front and rear, the Sandero shown in these renderings has straighter lines, somewhat reminiscent of the Kia Tasman, which has sparked considerable debate regarding its styling.

      2025 Dacia Sandero Stepway

Regardless of how the production model turns out, the 2028 Sandero and Sandero Stepway are anticipated to retain familiar powertrain options.

Base models are expected to continue using the 1.0-liter TCe turbo triple engine producing 110 hp, while a 1.2-liter version, tuned to approximately 120 hp, is also likely to be available.

There is increasing speculation about electrification. Reports indicate that the current Stepway may soon offer a hybrid variant, and the next generation will almost certainly follow suit.

This setup would combine a 1.8-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine with an electric motor and a compact 1.4 kWh battery, yielding a combined output of around 155 hp.
