The high-performance LFR from Lexus is nearing its official unveiling.
Fifteen hours ago, Michael Gauthier reported that the Lexus LFR prototype has been spotted again, suggesting a potential launch later this year.
The interior of the prototype looks ready for production, featuring a large display screen. Additionally, there’s a minimalist shifter along with dedicated controls for climate and volume.
The Lexus LFR is getting closer to becoming a reality, and recent spy shots have captured a new prototype boasting a production-ready interior. Although heavily camouflaged, the images provide a glimpse of the elegant and minimalist cabin.
Drivers will find themselves behind a flat-bottom steering wheel equipped with paddle shifters and a metallic detail, which bears an "L," likely indicating it is a Lexus model. Focusing on the steering wheel, hexagonal control stalks and a top-mounted bulge for a driver monitoring system are visible.

The centerpiece is the infotainment system, which seems to be running a slightly updated version of the Lexus Interface. The display includes familiar shortcuts on the left, along with a climate display at the bottom. Additionally, there is a row of physical controls for both driver and passenger climate settings, as well as a volume adjuster.
Continuing with the center stack, it’s complemented by a highly stylized ‘casing’ featuring metallic ribs and recessed black panels with a textured surface. A closer look also shows a couple of horizontal air vents peeking out from beneath the controls.
The center console is covered in black fabric, showcasing a subtle ramp-like design. At the front, there is a minimalist shifter with a specific park button. Behind the shifter, two buttons are visible, although their specific functions are not clear.
Among the notable features are red Recaro seats that appear to have a carbon fiber shell. These seats resemble those showcased at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, but are wrapped in Alcantara or microfiber upholstery rather than leather.
Additional features include elegantly designed door handles and vertical air vents positioned at the far edges of the dashboard. The prototype also includes an unusual ‘cup holder’ that seems to intrude into the passenger seat area, though it is expected that this design will not make it to the production model.
Lexus has not provided extensive information about the LFR, but spy photographers have recently observed prototypes testing three different aerodynamic configurations. One is thought to be the standard model, while the others incorporate various track packages with differing levels of performance.
As for the powertrain, details remain limited. However, it is rumored that the vehicle will feature a hybrid twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine, potentially offering a combined power output of around 900 hp (671 kW / 912 PS), though this information should be viewed with some skepticism.
