Stellantis is recalling 2022-2025 Jeep Wagoneers and Grand Wagoneers.
The SUVs require their poorly fitted window surround trim to be properly attached.
Nearly 123,000 Wagoneer SUVs and 41,000 Grand Wagoneers are involved.
For 80 years, civilian Jeeps have provided American drivers with the chance to escape in ways that regular cars cannot. However, the versatile Stellantis brand now finds itself needing to recall thousands of SUVs due to door trim parts that may detach and go astray.
In total, 163,735 Jeeps from the 2022-2025 model years are impacted by this issue. This includes 122,998 Wagoneers and 40,737 long-wheelbase Grand Wagoneers.

The issue pertains not to what the NHTSA recall notice designates as the DLO trim—representing the daylight opening, a fancy term for the decorative element around the side window—but rather to how it is affixed. Jeep suspects that the trim on many Wagoneers may not have been secured correctly at the manufacturing facility in Warren, Michigan, and has the potential to fall off.
Missing trim can look unattractive on any vehicle, especially on a luxury model, but the NHTSA's primary concern is that fallen trim pieces could pose a hazard to other motorists, potentially leading to accidents. While such incidents are unlikely and FCA US is not aware of any related accidents, injury lawyers across the nation prompt manufacturers and regulators to remain vigilant.
Increasing Warranty Claims
As of August this year, Jeep had already addressed 405 warranty claims regarding detaching trim. Beginning October 31, the company will contact the remaining owners to arrange appointments at local service centers for proper reattachment of the affected trim.
Upon visiting dealerships, these owners may also have the opportunity to view the redesigned 2026 Grand Wagoneer, which Jeep previewed last month and is set to launch this fall. The update takes design cues from the electric Wagoneer S, introducing slimmer headlights and a seven-slot grille with an integrated light bar, along with a new 4xe range-extended hybrid powertrain added to the lineup. Additionally, Jeep is set to introduce a new Cherokee, a refreshed Grand Cherokee, and the trail-capable Recon.
