Another prototype of the 2026 Porsche Cayenne Coupe EV has emerged at the Nurburgring. This time, there is a new mysterious variant, and its identity may be linked to another well-known Porsche electric vehicle: the Taycan.
So far, Porsche has mostly kept to its traditional naming conventions for its electric vehicle trims. This includes the somewhat debated use of the “Turbo” label, despite the clear lack of an actual turbocharger. This was seen in the Taycan, which is fitting, as the breakdown of models for the electric sedan gives us a solid indication of what to expect here: a Turbo GT.
We have already witnessed the astonishing speed of Porsche’s Cayenne EV prototypes, so we have no doubt that this will closely rival the lower (and more aerodynamic) Taycan GT—likely just edging it out. The prototype that Porsche showcased at the Goodwood Festival of Speed earlier this year completed the course in 31.28 seconds, breaking the previous SUV record by over four seconds.
To Porsche’s credit, the rear wing and sculpted bumper help divert attention from the Coupe’s Tesla-like design. It maintains the elevated belt line that distinguishes it from the standard Cayenne (even in its gas-powered version). The appearance of this clipped crossover has often been divisive, and it seems this one will not be an exception.
