The striking Sunrise Yellow perfectly complements the GR86 and BRZ models, featuring matching interior stitching.

Toyota has launched the GR86 RZ Yellow Limited edition in Japan.

Following suit, Subaru unveiled the similar BRZ STI Sport Yellow Edition.

Both models showcase unique elements and are limited to just 300 units each.

A burst of bright yellow has made its way into Japan's domestic sports car market, courtesy of two new limited-edition versions of the Toyota GR86 and Subaru BRZ twins. Each variant boasts the same vivid exterior color and coordinated interior accents, although Toyota's edition includes a few additional performance enhancements.

Starting with the Toyota GR86 RZ Yellow Limited, this model represents the Japanese version of the Yuzu Special Edition that was introduced in the US earlier this year. However, the specifications differ slightly, as the Japanese variant does not include the optional Yuzu body kit.

The vehicle is adorned with a Sunrise Yellow exterior, reminiscent of the 2015 Toyota 86 GT Yellow Limited, accentuated by 18-inch alloy wheels finished in Dark Gray Metallic. While Toyota has not added any extra aerodynamic features, the chassis benefits from significant upgrades, including Brembo brakes with ventilated discs and red calipers, along with sportier suspension equipped with Sachs dampers.

Inside, the yellow theme continues with perforated upholstery inserts and matching stitching on the seats, steering wheel, gear shifter, and door panels. The rest of the interior features black trim, highlighted by subtle “Yellow Limited” branding on the doors.

The BRZ STI Sport Yellow Edition is also finished in Sunrise Yellow, but it rolls on black 18-inch alloy wheels featuring gold calipers and black Subaru emblems. The chassis reflects the standard STI Sport trim, which is already fitted with Brembo brakes and a stiffer suspension setup.

Inside, the Subaru mirrors its Toyota counterpart with yellow stitching on black Ultrasuede and leather accents, plus “BRZ Yellow Edition” badges on the doors.

Both models maintain the same powertrain, utilizing the naturally aspirated 2.4-liter boxer engine that delivers 232 hp (173 kW / 235 PS) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque. Rear-wheel drive is the chosen configuration, with buyers having the option of a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission.

      Limited Availability

Both special editions are restricted to 300 units, exclusively for the Japanese market. Prospective buyers must enter a lottery system to secure a purchase, with dealers currently accepting applications. The GR86 RZ Yellow Limited is priced starting at ¥3,897,000 ($26,500), while the BRZ STI Sport Yellow Edition starts at ¥4,180,000 ($28,400).
