The Suzuki Victoris shares a close relationship with the Grand Vitara but boasts a unique exterior design and enhanced features.

Maruti Suzuki has introduced the Victoris as its flagship SUV in India.

The Victoris is slightly larger than the Grand Vitara, featuring sharper styling and an upgraded interior.

This SUV comes with options for mild hybrid, full hybrid, and CNG powertrains.

For many years, Suzuki has established a niche by focusing on compact city cars and small SUVs, with each model distinguished more by personality than by size. This strategy continues with the launch of the Maruti Suzuki Victoris in India, which has a similar footprint to the Grand Vitara but distinguishes itself with unique design elements and a more luxurious range of features.

The Victoris measures 4,360 mm in length, 1,795 mm in width, and 1,655 mm in height. It is 15 mm taller and 10 mm wider than the Grand Vitara, while both vehicles share an identical wheelbase of 2,600 mm. While it is considered a subcompact SUV by European standards, in India, it serves as Suzuki’s flagship model.

      New Design Features

Despite its similar dimensions to the Grand Vitara, the Victoris features completely new bodywork. Its front end includes larger LED headlights, a slim grille, and bumper intakes that seamlessly integrate above a subtle skid plate.

The side profile displays squared wheel arches housing 17-inch alloys, accompanied by a slightly redesigned greenhouse for added character. The rear is marked by full-width LED taillights that evoke the futuristic aesthetics seen on Kia models.

Inside, the Victoris offers a distinct dashboard featuring a high-mounted 10.1-inch infotainment screen. The cabin is enhanced with textured upholstery and a panoramic sunroof, while premium features for the Indian market include 64-color ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, wireless charging, a Harman audio system with Dolby Atmos, a 360-degree camera, Alexa integration, and a hands-free powered tailgate. It is also the first Maruti Suzuki to include Level 2 driver-assistance technologies.

In typical Suzuki style, the exterior can be finished in both single-tone and bi-tone colors, while the interior features a black and ivory color scheme. Additionally, the optional Raffine Package includes dark chrome accents for the exterior, as well as a wood finish, special floor mats, and illuminated sills within the cabin.

Under the surface, the Victoris utilizes the same Heartect platform as the Grand Vitara and offers a similar range of powertrains. Options include mild hybrid, full hybrid, and bi-fuel (gasoline/CNG) configurations.

The most powerful variant is the Strong Hybrid, combining a 1.5-liter engine with an electric motor to produce a total of 114 hp and 141 Nm of torque. This variant transmits power through a six-speed automatic transmission to Suzuki’s Allgrip Select all-wheel-drive system.

      Market Status

While Maruti Suzuki has not yet disclosed the pricing for the Victoris in India, it is currently accepting pre-orders with a deposit of Rs 11,000. The Victoris is expected to be priced above the Grand Vitara, which is currently available in the range of ₹13.35-23.86 Lakh.

It remains uncertain if the model will be offered outside of India, but for now, it stands as Suzuki’s most feature-packed SUV for the domestic market.
