Last night, Jeep unveiled the 2026 Cherokee, which is an intriguing crossover that boasts a significantly larger size compared to its predecessor. This model also features a hybrid powertrain, delivering an impressive 42 mpg in the city, 33 mpg on the highway, and 37 mpg combined fuel efficiency.
Although Jeep representatives shared extensive information about the Cherokee during a media preview a few weeks back, they were unexpectedly vague about equipment specifics. This has changed today as the automaker has disclosed more details and launched a configurator.

The base Cherokee starts at $35,000 and showcases a boxy design with LED lighting, tinted rear windows, and rain-sensing wipers, along with an acoustic windshield and 18-inch wheels.
The simplified interior features a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch Uconnect 5 infotainment system. Buyers will also find a leatherette steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, a six-speaker audio system, and manually adjustable cloth seats.
Despite being an entry-level model, the Cherokee is equipped with numerous driver assistance technologies, including Active Driving Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go, and Blind-Spot/Cross-Path Detection. Additional features include Full-Speed Forward-Collision Warning Plus, Intersection Collision-Assist, and ParkSense Rear Park-Assist with Stop.
For those seeking more luxury, the Cherokee Laredo starts at $38,595 and offers a more upscale interior with premium cloth seats and eight-way power adjustment for the driver's seat. This variant also includes heated front seats, remote start, and USB-C ports for the second row.
The $41,095 Cherokee Limited enhances the experience with a power liftgate and power-folding side mirrors equipped with integrated turn signals. Inside, significant upgrades include Capri leatherette seats with power adjustment on both sides, a heated steering wheel, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a universal garage door opener.
At the top of the range is the $44,595 Cherokee Overland, characterized by larger 20-inch wheels and a foot-activated power liftgate. Customers can also opt for an optional two-tone exterior, available in four different color combinations.
Interior upgrades for this model include 10-way power front seats covered in uniquely perforated Capri leatherette upholstery, GPS navigation, a panoramic sunroof, and a nine-speaker Alpine premium audio system with a subwoofer.
While this overview merely scratches the surface, you can experiment with the 2026 Jeep Cherokee configurator to design your ideal crossover. However, options are somewhat limited, particularly on the lower trims.
As previously noted, all models come with a hybrid powertrain that includes a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine, a continuously variable transmission, two electric motors, and a 1.08 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. This setup provides a combined output of 210 hp (157 kW / 213 PS) and 230 lb-ft (312 Nm) of torque.
