As per the owner, the driver was unable to stop in time due to traffic and collided with another vehicle that he also owns.

A Lamborghini Murcielago crashed into a Jaguar F-Pace SVR during Monterey Car Week. The incident occurred while they were part of a group that included the Jaguar and a McLaren.

Police utilized an SUV to move the damaged Italian supercar off the road.

During Monterey Car Week, the number of supercars is exceptionally high, which consequently increases the risk of accidents. Unfortunately, we are already witnessing footage of a rare Lamborghini Murcielago that may have reached the end of its journey. Although the powertrain may still function, virtually everything else on the vehicle appears to require repairs.

The LP640 is not your typical Murcielago. Lamborghini produced only a few thousand of them, and this particular model is an even rarer Roadster variant. It is regarded as one of the last truly analog supercars from Lamborghini. Owned by Sparq AI, the car was driven by a friend while another employee operated the Jaguar positioned in front of the supercar.

The owner stated that the Lambo driver couldn't stop in time when the Jaguar F-Pace SVR ahead had to brake suddenly. As a result, the Jaguar driver hit someone, which also led to the Italian supercar sustaining damage. Interestingly, the impact was so severe that it caused the Murcielago’s rollover protection to deploy from behind the passenger compartment. From that point on, the situation only worsened.

A police vehicle was used to push the Lamborghini off the road, and it wasn’t just a gentle nudge. In one shot, the officers are seen moving the front of the car to the right with their bull bar. In another, they are pushing the rear of the car, which had initially remained undamaged.

Daily Driven Exotics happened to be in the vicinity when the crash occurred and captured extensive footage. In the video, the owner mentions that the police questioned him about his Montana license plates. Several states have been cracking down on perceived tax evasion involving Montana LLCs. However, it appears that the officers ultimately allowed the driver and owner to leave without further issue.

In the end, we’re just relieved that no one was injured in this incident. The outcome could have been much worse than losing just one more supercar, even if it was a rare model.
