The newly unveiled Mustang GTD Liquid Carbon from Ford showcases an exposed carbon fiber body that is inspired by motorsport design.

This model is approximately 13 lbs lighter than the Carbon Series.

Ford's Mustang GTD lineup is growing with the introduction of the Liquid Carbon trim, which, as its name implies, forgoes paint to prominently display its carbon fiber construction.

Building on the Carbon Series, this version features a carbon weave that stretches down the center of the car, with patterns on the fenders and side panels aligning with adjacent sections, creating a unified appearance.

Additionally, the model includes distinctive Brembo brake calipers with an anodized finish and a glossy black GTD script.

Interior enhancements feature a combination of black leather and Dinamica microfiber upholstery, complemented by Hyper Lime contrast stitching and seat centers designed with a "reflective center gradient" pattern. The cabin also includes carbon fiber accents, a 12.4-inch digital instrument display, and a 13.2-inch infotainment system.

In addition to its striking aesthetics, the Mustang GTD Liquid Carbon is about 13 lbs (5.9 kg) lighter than the Carbon Series equipped with the Performance package, thanks to the omission of paint and the removal of sheet metal in the doors.

Although Ford did not disclose pricing details, they confirmed that the Performance package is included as standard, with initial deliveries expected to begin in October.

Upon its arrival, the vehicle will be powered by a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 engine that produces 815 hp (608 kW / 826 PS) and 664 lb-ft (899 Nm) of torque. It will feature an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, allowing it to reach a top speed of 202 mph (325 km/h).

Greg Goodall, the chief program engineer for the Mustang GTD, remarked that the “Liquid Carbon is the ultimate expression of the Mustang GTD’s high-tech, high-performance design and serves as a reminder of the race-inspired, cutting-edge capabilities inherent in every Mustang GTD.” He emphasized that the exposed carbon fiber significantly enhances the visual appeal of the car.
