The 2025 Ford Mustang GTD Liquid Carbon made its first appearance at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca during Monterey Car Week. While earlier versions of the most powerful factory Mustang featured significant amounts of exposed carbon fiber, this special edition fully embraces the unpainted CF aesthetic—nearly everything except the glass and lights is bare carbon.
According to Ford, the Liquid Carbon model is 13 pounds lighter than the GTD Carbon Series Performance Package, which includes large visible carbon fiber components on the hood and roof. This weight reduction is achieved by replacing the sheet metal in the doors with bonded carbon fiber and, notably, forgoing paint. The supercharged 5.2-liter V8 remains unchanged, so the output stays at 815 horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque. A particularly skilled driver might manage to extract a bit more speed from this variant due to its reduced weight.
Remarkably, the carbon weave on the hood, roof, rear deck, and rear wing is designed to align perfectly at the center of the vehicle, providing visual consistency across the body. All Liquid Carbon GTDs will come equipped with the Performance Package, which includes magnesium wheels, active aerodynamics, a distinct front fascia with dive planes, and other features.
This variant of the GTD is expected to start deliveries in October. Ford has not revealed the price, but given that the base GTD is around $325,000, it’s likely this version will approach $400,000. If that price is out of reach, you can still enjoy viewing the car in the stylish album Ford has created. It truly is an impressive vehicle.

Clearly, the all-carbon exterior is the highlight here. However, the Liquid Carbon GTD also boasts unique interior features: a steering wheel wrapped in black leather and Dinamica microfiber suede, Hyper Lime stitching throughout, and a reflective gradient running down the center of the seats.
