Big Huey created a video claiming he was stranded on a highway in the US due to a malfunction with his vehicle.

Tesla quickly clarified that the clip was fabricated and that they do not have the capability to disable vehicles remotely.

Among the rapper’s posts was a letter featuring a forged signature from Tesla’s Vice President of Legal.

American rapper Big Huey has dramatically asserted that Tesla remotely disabled his Cybertruck after he released a song named after the highly debated electric vehicle. However, the entire incident seems to have been staged, presumably to generate publicity for the song and increase traffic to the rapper’s Instagram account.

The situation began over the weekend when Big Huey posted a video on Instagram claiming that Tesla had deactivated his Cybertruck, leaving him stuck on the side of the road. The rapper showcased the EV's infotainment screen, which displayed a glaring red and white warning stating ‘Tesla Cybertruck De-Activated.’ It further indicated ‘Critical issue detected, contact customer service,’ and instructed the rapper to ‘Comply with cease & desist to re-activate.’

According to the rapper, he was “stranded as (explicit)” and unable to move the vehicle. The post garnered significant attention online, accumulating over 112,000 likes. One comment stating ‘U missed ur payments bro’ has even received over 51,000 likes.

Shortly after sharing this video, Big Huey also posted another clip claiming to show a cease and desist letter sent to him by Tesla. In the letter, the automaker expressed concerns about the rapper using the Cybertruck name in his song and related imagery. The letter was supposedly signed by Dinna Eskin. However, both the letter and the original video are fakes.

      Tesla Sets the Record Straight

Tesla utilized X and Instagram to clarify that the video of the Cybertruck stranded on the highway was fabricated and confirmed that it “does NOT disable vehicles remotely.” Furthermore, the alleged cease and desist letter incorrectly used Eskin’s previous title as Sr. Director and Deputy General Counsel for Tesla, whereas she is currently the VP of Legal.

Additionally, a Reddit user was able to replicate the red and white screen shown on Big Huey’s Tesla by connecting a laptop and typing a message for the screen to display.

Once again, a Cybertruck purports to have been remotely disabled by Tesla. byu/joonatoona inCyberStuck
