One Seat In This Luxury Bentley Gives A Race Car Vibe While The Other Offers A Spa Experience | Carscoops
The Batur Convertible may take inspiration from a well-known Bentley model, but it possesses a distinct personality.
Bentley plans to produce just 16 units of the Batur Convertible, and the first has now been completed.
Inside, the driver’s seat is upholstered in black, while the passenger's seat is finished in white, reflecting a vintage racing aesthetic.
This model is powered by a twin-turbo 6.0-liter W12 engine, generating 740 hp and 737 lb-ft of torque.
It has been a year and a half since the Batur Convertible was first introduced, and the first customer vehicle has now been released from Bentley’s factory in Crewe. With only 16 units scheduled for production, spotting one in real life may be as elusive as encountering Bigfoot.
The exterior of this specific Bentley features a shimmering Opalite silver color with a gloss black racing stripe complemented by Mandarin orange pinstripes. This black and orange theme extends to the large front grille and the uniquely designed wheels.
Bentley has made sure this interior is one-of-a-kind, drawing inspiration from classic racing vehicles to create a one-plus-one feel. The driver’s side is outfitted in Beluga black materials, while the passenger side boasts Linen white upholstery, enhanced by soft-touch Alcantara on the driver’s side and a contrasting Linen and Mandarin stitching.
The Cabin is a Masterpiece
The interior is adorned with numerous sophisticated design elements, from the dashboard to the door panels. The solid titanium paddle shifters, steering column stalks, and air vent controls lend a luxurious atmosphere to the space. Behind the seats, there’s sufficient space for two customized leather bags, perfectly tailored to the car's exclusivity.
While Bentley hasn’t disclosed the destination of this specific Batur Convertible, attendees at Monterey Car Week this month will have the opportunity to view another model up close. Referred to as Batur Convertible Car Zero, this Vermilion Gloss engineering model owned by Mulliner will be showcased throughout the event, soon following its dynamic debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
All 16 Baturs in production will be equipped with a 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged W12 engine that delivers 740 hp and 737 lb-ft (1,000 Nm) of torque. Unlike other Bentleys featuring the same engine, the Batur benefits from new air intakes, enhanced turbochargers, new intercoolers, and a titanium exhaust system.
This highly refined version of the W12 also marks a farewell for the engine, which Bentley intends to retire in 2026 as it moves towards an electrified future.
