Backpacks Shaped Like Porsche 911s Arrive Just in Time for the Back-to-School Season

      I’ve only ordered from AliExpress once, and it was a rather poor experience, so I don’t plan on trying it again. Unfortunately, I’m still quite familiar with the variety of products available on the site due to Instagram advertisements. A friend recently encountered an ad that could only be a product of AI's bizarre imagination, and it was so ridiculous that I had to share it.

      Named the “2024 Personality Creative Casual Fashion Luxury Style Backpack School Bag Male Girlfriend Birthday Gift,” (you might need to change your region outside the U.S. to see it), this backpack is designed to resemble the rear of a Porsche 911—sometimes. While two of the images clearly depict a 911-like design, one of them doesn’t seem to resemble any car at all. It also lacks the obviously functional spoiler that the other images feature.

      Such products are unfortunately just a part of everyday life now, and more than anything, I wonder what I would actually receive if I paid the—deep breath now—$200 plus $130 shipping to obtain it. Would it be a picture of the backpack? Which design would it match—the one with the carbon diffuser or the one that’s body-colored? If by some miracle it was a real backpack, how would one open it without visible zippers? I have many questions, but sadly, The Drive’s editorial budget doesn’t allow me to explore that curiosity.

      The “2024 Personality Creative Casual Fashion Luxury Style Backpack School Bag Male Girlfriend Birthday Gift” was a mystery to me. However, I didn’t want to wait for the 2025 version to come out, so I dug a bit deeper. What I discovered was another bag shaped like a 911—and this one, I must say, looks somewhat believable.

      Dubbed “Camping Bag Men’s backpacks Tactical backpack Women’s bag Backpack backpack school,” this version is more affordable despite being four times the size of the other one, priced at $83 with $53 for shipping and handling. Still quite pricey, but at least the images don’t seem to be generated by Grok, so I’d say there’s a better chance of receiving an actual product here.

      Upon closer inspection, the hard shell features a texture reminiscent of a car’s dashboard, and there are only two pockets inside. Aside from that, you have the entire interior of a 911’s rear to store oddly shaped items. It’s not the most practical shape for carrying cargo—it’s more suited for engines, after all.

      Perhaps a backpack modeled after a different car would be more functional. I can’t imagine the 911 is the only car someone might want to wear on their back. However, despite my search, I couldn’t find any other bags with a similar design approach. No Dodge Challenger backpack, no Tesla-shaped version, and no aggressive Lamborghini backpack. From what I can see, this seems to be exclusively a Porsche-focused endeavor.

      Anyway, I know back-to-school season is starting, but no one should order the “Camping Bag Men’s backpacks Tactical backpack Women’s bag Backpack backpack school,” especially not for $136. That said, if you evaluate the risks and decide to go for it anyway, I 1) can’t prevent you and 2) thank you for your courage. Please share a photo of whatever you receive. It could be the depicted bag, a printed image of it, a lawn chair, or nothing at all. With AliExpress, you never really know, and that’s part of the excitement.
