Nio's budget-friendly brand is set to launch the new Onvo L90, which promises exceptional value.

The new Onvo L90 electric SUV boasts up to 590 hp and seating for three rows.

Starting prices are as low as $25,000 with a monthly battery lease through BaaS.

The Ultra trim features dual motors and can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 4.7 seconds.

Pricing information for Onvo's new full-size L90 SUV has been revealed. Targeting the Chinese family SUV market, the L90 is the latest offering from Nio's Onvo brand, which is designed to be more affordable. Available in six- and seven-seat configurations, the vehicle allows buyers to lower initial costs by subscribing to Nio’s Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) plan.

All variants of the L90 come with an 85 kWh battery and a 900-volt electrical system. The six-seat Pro model starts at 265,800 yuan, approximately $37,200, while the six-seat Max is priced from 279,000 yuan, around $38,900.

Participating in the BaaS program significantly reduces these prices to 179,800 yuan ($25,000) and 193,800 yuan ($26,900), respectively. Customers opting for this will incur a monthly battery rental fee of 899 yuan, roughly $125.

While there is a recurring monthly cost, the starting price remains lower than that of the base Civic Sedan in the U.S., which starts at $25,745 with delivery included. It also surpasses the Civic Hatchback, which begins at $27,795 before fees, and is considerably cheaper than the European Civic hybrid, currently available at €39,500, or about $45,650. Other varying factors are involved, but the comparison stands.

      Luxury at a Lower Cost

For those who value comfort and amenities, the six-seat Ultra version starts at 299,800 yuan ($41,700) or 213,800 yuan ($29,700) with BaaS. The seven-seat options follow a similar pricing pattern: the Pro starts at 185,800 yuan ($25,800), the Max at 199,800 yuan ($27,800), and the Ultra again at 213,800 yuan ($29,700) with battery rental. Any resemblance to Apple's product naming is purely coincidental.

When compared to competitors like the Hyundai Ioniq 9 and Kia EV9, these prices present significant value for a three-row electric SUV.

      Performance Across the Range

Onvo offers the Pro and Max models with a single electric motor generating 456 hp (340 kW). The six- and seven-seat Ultra models include an additional 134 hp (100 kW) motor at the front, totaling 590 hp (440 kW). The standard rear-wheel-drive versions can reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.9 seconds, while the all-wheel-drive Ultras achieve this in just 4.7 seconds.

Inside, the L90 emphasizes technology. The dashboard is equipped with a 17.2-inch central infotainment display, and second-row passengers enjoy a fold-down 17.3-inch screen from the headliner. Additionally, there’s an 8-inch rear touchscreen and an expansive 35-inch head-up display at the front. All models come with a 23-speaker sound system and a built-in 8.86-liter refrigerator, highlighting the SUV’s focus on passenger comfort.

At this point, there is no confirmation regarding whether the Onvo L90 will be available outside of China.
